I didn't even notice I fell asleep until I felt a warm hand playing with my hair. Opening my sleepy eyes I was met with the loving gaze from my mother. God she's such an amazing mother, I don't know what I would do without her
She smiled for the first time after her surgery, she's so strong. As I'm about to get up and get a doctor she holds onto my hand. "Leha, Thank you I'm sorry for everything that we've been through as a family, I'm sorry for putting you through this"
"Ma, I'm sorry if this comes out rude but, be quiet" we both giggle at this. " but you need to stop this nonsense, stop speaking like if your last day in this earth. You still have some time. I know you don't want the treatments, and I get it ma. You want to go in peace You don't want us to see you go through the after effects of them. But it's the only way you'll get better"
She interrupted me and what she said next made all the hope I had vanish. She looked me dead in the eyes and said " I have made peace with death. I know I don't have long to live and that's alright, I like to think that I have raised good children. I know you will take care of Timo and Raquel like if they were your own. I know that you will protect them and cherish them.
You will give yourselves the life you've always dreamed of. And you will get married and even though I am not there with you physically, I will walk you down that isle mentally and spiritually. And you WILL have children of your own, I want to be a grandmother at some point."
With fresh tears running down my cheeks I gave a throaty laugh. Man she is unbelievable!
In that moment the doctor that was attending her came in with a nurse that was carrying what I'm guessing is breakfast.

With refills and a wheelchair we finally got home. Its almost 11pm and I have to get ready to sleep. I have a big day tomorrow, which reminds me I have to tell my mom the big news!
"Ma, I forgot to tell you. I got a job and I start tomorrow, so if you don't need me anymore I'm heading off to bed."

As I make my way upstairs, I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket.

I immediately knew who it was and without thinking I let a smile take over my face.

Sending my reply I take off my clothes and put some Adele on my speaker, picking a song I hop in the shower and scrub all all worries from todays hectic day.
20 mins later and I was feeling so much better. I check my phone for any notifications and notice 2 unread messages.

Sending the message and changing the name from unknown to "Mystery Guy🙄". I got comfortable and ready to sleep when I heard my phone get a notification. Groaning I searched for it on my night stand and checked who texted me.
