Cabin Fever

Chapter 2

We loudly sang along to the radio, banging on the seats and dashboard as we rode in Tommy's SUV. We soon arrived at the cabin around five in the afternoon. We had packed our bags on Friday morning and gone to school so we could take off immediately after school. It felt nice to finally be away gain. One week in that hell hole can really do someone over.

The road went rocky after a while as we took a right turn away from the asphalt and towards paradise. The truck came to a stop in front of a large, one floor cabin. It looked peaceful, surrounded by nature all around. It could almost be creepy, but the cozy feeling the cabin gave off eliminated all feeling of discomfort.

No matter how much times I've been here with my two best friends, I'll still enjoy it as if it was the first time.

"Yo, quit your day dreaming and help us out here," Danny shouted. They were pulling our our bags and dragging them to the porch.

"Coming," I yelled back. Refusing Danny was not something you wanted to try. Last year, we were hanging out, the three of us. Danny wasn't in a particularly good mood that day and I'd stupidly decided that some fun should cheer him up. Apparently not. I good-naturedly sprayed him with the hose and I thought we were both having fun until I saw his face. He'd cuffed me to the porch rails outside and had me stay the night there.

He seemed like a bad boy -don't-come-near-me type on the outside, but even he had his moments. Later in the night, when I had just given up hope, he came out and uncuffed my hands. I was tired and sleepy so he carried me, bridal style, into the house and laid me on the couch. He left for a while and came back with a plate of food. He sat there and fed me until I was satisfied. He kissed my forehead tenderly and ran his fingers through my hair until I fell asleep. I must have felt really tired and he must have felt really bad. Either way, that was the day I realized that I was really in love with one of my best friends. I'd been feeling funny whenever I saw my two best friends together. Sometimes shirtless or sometimes wrestling in bed. They were adorable when they doing anything. What really got me was Tommy's innocence and Danny's possessiveness. It's hard- - -

"Hey lover boy, what's with you today!" I snapped out of my daze at the remark and jogged over to help.

Once we were settled in, we carried the bags to the one bedroom. Oh right. One bedroom. I never had a problem sharing a room, more less a bed with them, but since my discoveries, I've been trying to stay away. How could i have forgotten?

I shook my head at myself and kept moving. Once we were done, we all moved to the living room to watch some movies. Since it was almost nighttime anyways, we'd decided that were have fun tomorrow and stay in tonight.

I went to the kitchen to grab some snacks that we'd brought. As I was stretching my arms to the cabinet containing chips, I jumped when felt a warm hand land on my shoulder. I turned around to find Danny looking at me with his head tilted to the side like a curious puppy. An adorable puppy. His bright green eyes which contrasted which his black hair and toned skin looked at me and i couldn't seem to look away. I smiled softly and waited for him to explain.

"What's wrong? You've been spacing out often. What's are you thinking?"

I scrambled my mind for a reply. "Uh... Just worried about tommy is all. He needs this break and we need to be there for him."

"Yeah. He'll be fine because we'll always be here for him and eahother," Danny smiled a beautiful smile and pulled me in for an abrupt hug that lasted a few heart-melting seconds, then he let go and walked back to the living room.

I was dazed. I stood there stunned for a few minutes. I know I probably seem like I was overreacting but his tender side rarely came out and when it did, it hit full force. I shook myself and collected the snacks to the living room.

Hours later, we sleepy shuffled to the bedroom to go to bed. Tommy brushed his teeth, then Danny. By the time I was done, I found them asleep, cuddled with Tommy in the middle and Danny near the edge. *Sigh* I went and slept on the other side of Tommy, making sure I didn't touch him. It was a king sized bed so that want really a problem. Let's hope it stays that way till morning.
