"Al, you ready?" Zak asks one more time, before letting me ring the bell. My hands are sweaty and I can feel my armpits becoming sweaty too.  This is a bad idea, a very bad idea that is going to have very bad consequences.  I look straight at his honey-like eyes and I nod my head. The truth is, at that moment, I wish I had shaken it.

We were standing in front of my house. A small two-storey building in Geyshon, a town located at the very side of the Fire Nation. A coastal town if you might. It is beautiful, especially is the beach,  also all the woods and small tea shops. My house had big glass windows at the corner of it and some big doors. Yet my family hasn't noticed us. There was a garden in the front yard too. My mom loves it and spends crazy amount of time working on it. And I spend a crazy amount of time accidentally ruining it. It has a lot of stuff. Even some huge warm toned flowers that I don't even know the names of. Mom brought them from her trip to Ba Sing Se. One of the best buys this year she says.

I look up. This house has been with me from the very start. 17 years to be exact. It felt a lot of burns from me trying to learn how to bend and it sure had felt a lot of falls from me running around the house from my sister or trying to catch my brother. Gosh it has tons of memories.

Right after the nod Zak steps aside to let me ring the bell. I immediately put my hand up to stop the direct sunlight. He is very tall, taller than my dad, so when he moves I always get blinded by the sun.

My hand reaches out and in a moment the bell rings. I take a deep breath. I smell fall, a true fall mixed with some good home food. Mom is baking something good. I hope she doesn't burn it.

"This is about to go down," Zak looks at me and starts laughing right as the door opens. He is correct, it is about to go down, in flames actually, because my mom knows some killer fire bending moves. Well, me and Zak do too, but I won't fight her. Too high of a risk.

Soon a tiny bit smaller man comes out with a big pile of dark brown hair, in which you can't notice any grey pieces starting to grow. He smiles with his huge smile, few wrinkles show up. His deep blue eyes seem happy. Dad is wearing his signature blue hoodie. He looks relaxed, he always is, when he's not working.

"What do we have here?" he looks at both of us. "Zakky, I see you got taller a few inches again, and you Aliza, what a lovely surprise!" Dad jokes about Zak getting taller all the time and there is no stopping him, the door swings wide open and he happily lets us in. The living room is all orange-ish from the sun settling down and shinning through our big windows. Mom never shuts the blinds, either she likes how pretty it gets or she knows how beautiful it makes her eyes look. She is in the kitchen I guess from the amazing smell coming from that direction. Zak takes his shoes of while I bravely go on with them.

"Tell me, what's on your minds kids?" Dad sits down on one of the chairs and turns on the TV. "Oh, and have you heard that they confirmed the avatar? Some earthbending kid,"

"Whoah! Really?" Zak cheers. He takes of his grey jacket with some red stripes and sits down.

"Yup Zakky, one year late actually, they should have done it when he was 16, but it's great isn't it kiddos?" he sounds kinda sarcastic, but he actually enjoys all the avatar stuff. "Oh, and Liz?" only dad calls me Liz. "Your brother's mind is all jazzed up, you know? He got angry and left the house loudly." dad chuckled, but I know he was a bit upset.

Kai's, my brothers temperament is really bad, gladly he doesn't bend fire, the whole world would be in flames. Talking about flames, hope mom doesn't lose her crap when she hears about our idea.

"Yes, it is great news, and yes, his mind is jazzed up" I laugh and take a deep breath. It smells amazing. "Anyways, dad, we have this idea,-"

"You mean, you will ask something that I won't like? Okay, my ears are listening!" he pinches his ear to make them look bigger. Than laughs from his own joke.

"Raa! Don't encourage them!" mom comes out of nowhere. She is really beautiful. Her round cheeks and red lips always look amazing with her thick, wavy, long black hair which gracefully falls down to her shoulders. But she almost always ties it in a bun that loosens up or even lets out when the evening comes, to stop them from annoying her while she's working. One time she chopped them all of, when she gets annoyed with them she jokes about chopping them all of again. Her honey eyes glow when she's standing in that orange light. She laughs and disappears again.

This is the moment. Now or never.

"We wan't to travel to the Republic City." I spill out as fast as I can. My heart starts beating and I look at Zak, he looks a terrified, he didn't expect me to spill it out right away. That's not how we planned it. I had to wait. I'm afraid to turn around again, I don't want to see my dad angry.

"What-?" mom appears again, this time she doesn't laugh. I can feel the heat.

"Okay, haha, let me explain," I nervously chuckle.

But it's too late. Mom stands in this weird posture and begins the speech. "Your sister works there and do you know that that city still isn't the best place?-"

"Okay." not paying attention to mom dad suddenly answers. I look at him. He's just sitting in his favorite chair and watching TV, so calm and relaxed. His hair is everywhere and the orange light makes it look ginger.

"What?!" me and Zak shout. I can't believe this. Maybe he misheard the question? Now I'm too scared to repeat it. My hands are as sweaty as they can possibly be and I can feel myself getting hotter. I hope not to spit some fire by accident.

"WHAT?!" moms face looks so confused and angry at the same time. It gets hotter in the room. She is going to burn my dad down and no water in the whole world will help him. She disappears for a moment again and comes out without her oven gloves and her favorite burgundy apron.

"They are 17, woman, they will be alright, I traveled to the Fire Nation from the Northern Water Tribe when I was 17 too," he casually switches between the channels "Plus, they finished school, they are great kids! I wouldn't let Kai out, but that's a whole other story, besides, Yin is in the city, she works there, they will be alright," I can't believe this. I really cannot believe this. He said yes. I look at Zak again. This time we aren't petrified. Our eyes are glowing, Zak starts laughing cheerfully. He's stunned. None of us thought it would be this easy.

Mom doesn't say anything. You can feel the warm, coming from either the sun or one of us. And you can only hear Zak's laugh.
