Chapter 4 - James' P.O.V

I guess she told Courtney and Lavender. They keep freaking out whenever they see me. ESPECIALLY Lavender.
"Hey Ash."
I love you.
I know she can't hear my thoughts, but I think she saw the look in my eyes. I'm really glad that we've been talking at school now. Although I don't want it to be too suspicious, so I only talk to her occasionally. We've been hanging out at the farm more now.
I just wish it was only us, without Courtney.
I'd never tell Ashley or Courtney that I don't want her there though. After all, I don't have a death wish. But sometimes I feel so...... smothered..... With her around. Like I can't really say or do anything with Ashley.
If I ever want to be alone with her, I'm gonna have to say it. Just maybe not yet.
I think this every lunch and every lunch I put it off.
Maybe Lavender would have some advice.

The next day had never come slower. I'm going to ask Lavender for advice at 1st lunch.
And then hopefully I can spend 2nd lunch alone with Ashley.
1st lunch has finally come around. I head over to where Lavender sits and ask her if I can speak to her for a moment.
"Yeah?"
"How do I ask Courtney to leave Ashley and I alone, WITHOUT losing my life or any limbs?"
She grabs her school bag and we go for a walk. She basically gives me a full lecture on how to ask her before she finally decides that all of that time was wasted because she's going to ask her instead.

It's 2nd lunch already? Wow.
I meet Lavender at the gate to the farm and we walk in together. Kind of. She's in front for..... Safety reasons.....,..
"Stay here"
I'm about 5-10 metres away from Courtney and Ashley. Lavender goes up to them and starts talking. I don't know what she's saying, but whatever it is, it works because her and Courtney walk away together, leaving Ashley alone with me. I go up to her and we talk. And talk. And talk. Eventually I ask
"So, are you free this weekend?"
"Yeah"
Fantastic!
"Cool. Wanna come to my place?"
"Okay"
Heck yeah!
"Alright. See you there then. Bye!"
"Bye!"
I don't know how nervous she is, but my insides are melting.
