Chapter 11 - Ahley's P.O.V

I'm still crying. I have been since about 3:00 this afternoon when Courtney told me........ The bad news.
This is pathetic. I'M pathetic. I've been crying for FOUR HOURS.
"Ashley! It's time for dinner!"
Shit. Mum can't see me like this.....
I hold up a book so she thinks that I'm crying over an emotional story.
"Can I just eat in my room mum? Please?"
She looks like she's thinking it over for about 5 seconds until
"Sure. Just don't make a mess!"
"I won't."
I try and hold back my tears for the minute or two that it takes mum to give me my food and leave.
Well that's one good thing about drama....
I eat my tear soaked food, still crying throughout the whole 15 minutes it takes me to eat it.

"Mum I can't go to school. I feel really sick"
She holds her wrist up to my face which I have "preheated" with a hot water bottle.
"Ok. But I better not come home to a mess...."
Trust me, the only mess you might find is scattered tissues all over my room.

I can't believe I was able to pull that off for a whole week. I haven't talked to or texted James since Courtney told me. I guess I'll have to talk to him on the way back from drama.
SHIT! Drama!! We're doing the death scene from Romeo and Juliet!!! WE HAVE TO KISS!!!!!
I start really freaking out.
Guess I'll just have to say I don't want to get him sick.....

After a VERY awkward drama lesson, we start riding home. We don't talk until we get to the tree where I get off of my bike and beckon him over. We sit a fair distance apart, for a couple.
"Courtney told me..... About what happened."
He actually looks concerned.
Wow. He really is good at drama......
"Ashley.... You know I love you. I just.... I don't know what came over me."
"WELL YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE IT THEN!!! WHY WOULD YOU JUST TRY TO KISS MY BEST FRIEND!?"
"I'M SORRY!! OK!? I just had a dream the night before and....."
"Oh ok so having a dream excuses you to kiss my......."
He leans in and kisses me and, surprisingly, not only do I let him, but I kiss back! It feels so nice. Having his lips on mine. It's just a soft touch at first, but even that is enough to make me forget what was happening...
