Chapter 10

I stared at you for a few seconds, completely ignoring the others that were present. Stared at you, trying to recall your last words, trying to understand the truth behind it, trying to believe that all this is not a dream. But, when I did, I laughed.

I laughed at this cruel life I was living.

I laughed for being stupid enough to fall in love.

I laughed for giving my everything to a person I had just met.

I laughed for protecting someone with my life. Someone who didn't care about me.

I laughed for trusting someone I didn't even know.

I laughed at myself for caring.

I laughed, laughed like never before. But, my laugh represented no happiness of mine. It never did.

You finally looked up, after finding the courage to meet my eyes. You and the others looked at me in confusion, wondering if I had gone crazy.

"I-I am not joking y/n. I never meant that kiss", you stated trying to avoid my gaze. I stopped for a moment to catch my breath but when I saw your face, I started laughing again.

"Oh Min Yoongi", I saw you wince when I used your full name.But I continued,

"I don't fucking think of this as a joke. In fact, thanks. Thanks for bringing me back to reality. Thank for making me aware I needed to be my own superhero. Thanks for punishing me for caring. Thanks for being a great fake friend. Thanks for being a snake. Thanks for punishing me for falling in love. ", I paused myself to look at his face only to find him squeezing his eyes, taking in my insults. I made sure that I looked at everyone in the room when I said my last words before dashing out of the hallway, not waiting for anyone's reaction.

"After all, I keep forgetting, I don't fucking deserve love."
