I am SOOOOO sorry I have not updated yet!! I have only a week left of college before my Summer break (and I can't wait!) once Summer comes, I will try and update at least 2 stories once a week. I am a nanny in the summer so I won't have a ton of time to write, but I will.

Also, for any of those who still read my stories, thank you! I truly tried to make this a good chapter. It is UNEDITED, I think next week I am going to go back through and edit chapters that I have not yet. I hope you enjoyed it!

Update in about a week!

We were surrounded. Every time I knocked one down, dead or severely injured, another was there to replace him. Loud grunts could be heard all throughout the room. Dead bodies were strewn across the floor. I kept a close eye on my parents. The way they fought was graceful, but I could see the effect it had on them. They looked weary, tired, and much, much older than I had ever seen them.

Slowly the number of  Wendigo trickled down. They were leaving, one by one, back into the woods. My father had the last one. The disfigured body was growling, elongated teeth snapping dangerously close to my fathers throat. Anger took over me as the bony figure fought back.

“No!” My father roared as I wrapped my fingers along the Wendigos, boney, disfigured neck. I briefly looked at my father, questioning why he stopped me from snapping the monsters neck. He was panting, breaths coming in short and fast.

“Answers…. Sklyar.” He panted, face pale and drawn. Realization dawned on me. I stared down at the almost transparent skin of the beast, dark sunken eyes blankly stared ahead, sharp teeth rattling with anger and fear. I threw the beast down hard, its bones rattling as he made contact with the ground. The thing hissed, a gurgling sound coming from the back of his throat.

“Where is she?” I gritted out between my teeth, my entire body shaking with an anger I have never known. The thing before me was the monster under the bed, a nightmare, the beast that parents told their children, didn’t exist. But they did. Their near transparent skin, bony body, disfigured faces, and sharp, crooked, elongated teeth, chilled me to the bone. They were the monsters people once thought were either vampires or werewolves. If caught in the sun, their sickly pale skin would blister and bleed with moments, their corpses would also blister, but instead of bleeding, they smoked, and eventually would burn, their bodies excreting the most vulgar smell. “Where is she!” I roared, the beast shrunk back, bowing its head. A noise erupted from its throat, the only way I could explain it would be a gurgling hackle.

It threw its head back, a manic gurgling laugh over taking its body, bones shaking in his taut skin casing. A white hot rage seared through me as my hand swiped at the Wendigo. He went flying, landing on another, disfigured and very much dead Wendigo. Its face twisted in pain and anger.

“Master wanted her, Master will have.” It hissed, voice barely audible through its teeth. “She wanted him, so Master complied. She treats us niiiice…..” He hissed, sunken eyes mocking my anger. I stepped towards him, fists clenched so tight that I could feel my nails biting the skin on my palms.

“Who is your master and why did this she want Skylar?!” I roared, my loud growl shaking the foundation. The beast shivered before bursting into his manic laughter again.

“We haaave heeerrrr.” He gurgled. My blood ran cold, heart skipping a beat. I quickly reached out, fingers snapping its neck before I could think about what I was doing. Confusion, anger, and pain ripped through me.

She was gone….

Skylar

I awoke in a jolt, my heart racing, cursing myself for falling asleep, but was grateful that I hadn’t fallen to my death while I slept. I carefully glanced down towards the ground, trying to silence the swirl of thoughts, and intently listened for any sign of trouble. The only thing I could hear was the leaves swaying in the breeze above the sound of my blood rushing through my ears. My heart beat was so loud I could have sworn  that if anyone was around, they would be able to hear it.
