Isabelle's P.O.V.
It all happened so quickly, one minute it was a normal conversation and the next thing I knew, Jessica and I were across the room, Jace had was in between us and the others as they struggled to hold Callum Back. He no longer seemed human, his face had lost all colour and long, sharp fangs were now visible from his mouth. He managed to pull away from them and ran at us. At the last moment I saw Jace grab him and take him into another room.
The last thing I remember was seeing the three remaining guys, looking similar to Callum just had, walking towards us with an unnatural glow in their eyes.
Now I didn't know where I was, all I could tell was that we were moving due to the engine noise I could hear.
I looked around the room and noticed that I was in a double bed with Jessica Laid next to me.
"Jess, Jess please wake up" I whispered as I shook her gently. She stirred and woke up slowly before realising where she was.
"What happened Izzy? Where are we?"
"I don't know" I confessed "All I know is that we're moving.
It was then we heard footsteps and a moment later the door swung open.
There was Jace, he looked as normal as ever so it was hard to tell whether I had dreamt what happened but the fear on Jessica's face confirmed how real it was.
Jace slowly walked into the room, careful not to get too close so it was almost as if he could sense our fear. Rick stepped into the doorway as soon as Jace moved. Jessica was instantly looking towards him, her fear only slightly gone.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"Our tour bus" Jace answered.
"What happened?"
"That's what we're here to explain, we didn't think it was right to keep you in the dark but you have to promise one thing" Rick added
"You have to promise that you'll trust us not to hurt you" Jace finished with such a sad look on his face, it was hard not to reach over. But the worry of what they were going to say next, kept me from doing it.
"We'll try" I answered honestly because I knew that they were still our idols, and who wouldn't trust the people they look up to?
"May we sit on the edge of the bed?" Rick asked, looking over at us.
Jess and I nodded and they steadily walked over.
"Ok so, what you saw earlier, nobody is ever supposed to see. We live in such a way that everything is secret." Jace began.
"It has to be like that, because we don't know what would happen if our secret got out" Rick continued
"If anyone found out, we'd be in more danger than you felt yesterday and I have to look after the guys"
"Look after them? What do you mean?" Jess piped up.
"He's our leader, almost like what an alpha is to wolves" Rick answered
"But I still don't get it, what happened before?" I asked, desperate to get to the main point.
"We're vampires Isabelle" Jace confessed, refusing to meet my eyes.
It took a moment for his words to sink in.
"When Jessica handed Callum her drawing" Rick continued, "she cut her hand. It was only a paper cut but it was enough to draw blood."
"And so when I saw what was happening, I knew I had to stop Callum from doing something he'd hate himself for." Jace continued,
"Can you show us proof that you're vampires?" even after what we saw, I still needed proof that this was real.
To answer my question Jace opened his mouth to reveal long, sharp fangs and Rick did the same. Their eyes changed colour slightly too, Ricks developed a red tint to them and Jace's looked almost purple.
"So why would he hate himself for it? Why did you protect us? I thought vampires were supposed to be evil?" Jess asked before I could.
Jace had gone quiet once again so Rick answered instead.
"We might be vampires, but we didn't choose this life, we don't want to hurt people. So we use blood bags to feed on."
Jace speaks up, almost as if he knew what I was about to ask,
"There's a special arrangement that each government have for it's unique residents, for vampires they provide us with blood bags so that we don't have to hunt people to live."
"But the public can never know that people like us exist."
"Why?" I asked out of curiosity.
"There's to much conflict between people, they judge each other for their beliefs, how they look and even who they love, so you can probably understand why no one can know, there would be another version of the witch hunts"
"Non of us would be safe"
Something still didn't make sense.
"If no one can know, then why are you telling us?"
Again, Jace let Rick answer,
"We think we can trust you enough,"
I could tell there was something else they weren't saying but I wasn't going to press.
"Right, now that that's cleared up, you girls are happy to stay together in this room if you'd like." Rick offered.
"You said we're on your tour bus right?" Jess said slowly as both guys nodded. "So who's room is this? I wouldn't have thought there would be room for a guest bed?"
"It's mine" Jace confessed,
"There's only one room for each of us" Rick added.
"So where will you sleep?" I asked,
"I don't really need to sleep"
"I definitely wouldn't want to take your bed from you" Jess said, almost reading my mind.
"But we don't want you two sleeping on the sofa" Rick chimed in.
Jess spoke again but this time she sounded nervous.
"You're still our Idols right? So would you be willing to share with each of us to show that we aren't afraid of you"
"I'm not sure about that," Jace retorted "Rick or Isabelle might not want to do that" I noticed that he didn't mention himself.
"Actually, I wouldn't mind that" Rick agreed.
I also piped up "Who wouldn't want to share a bed with a band member. We can trust you guys to behave though right?"
"Maybe" Rick laughed, earning a light glare from Jace "I'm kidding"
"Lead the way then", Jess smiled, all trace of fear gone. The two of them walked out, leaving Jace and I in silence.
"So what about you?" I asked Jace as he was refusing to look up at me, "do you mind sharing? I can sleep on the sofa if needed."
"To be completely honest, I don't mind sharing." He said which wasn't the answer I expected. He'd seemed so against the idea only moments ago. "But why do you want to?" he continued.
"When we set off this morning, if someone had asked me if I wanted to share a bed with you, I wouldn't even have hesitated, so learning your secret shouldn't change that very much. You're my favourite out of the band and I've just got to learn more about you than the entire fanbase put together so I should be happy."
This time, my words even surprised me and for the first time ever, I saw a real smile on Jace's lips.
He walked over and closed the door before joining me on the bed.
"I promise you Isabelle, I won't hurt you, you can trust me not to do anything whilst we sleep."
"Pinky Promise?" I giggled.
"Huh?"
"It's something Jessica and I have always done, you can't break Pinky Promises!"
"Ok then, Pinky promise" He repeated and linked his pinky finger with mine. It was then I realised how cold he felt. It wasn't a bad type of cold, in fact it was actually rather soothing.
We both laid down to go to sleep when he spoke up again.
"Isabelle, thank you."
"What for?"
"For not being afraid of me, since you arrived earlier, I feel like there's something drawing me to you, so I'm not sure what I'd have done if you were."
I didn't say anything else, I just put my hand in his, as I felt that said more than I thought I could voice.
It didn't take long before I fell asleep but just before I did, I could have sworn I felt a kiss against my cheek.
