Wolves

 The wind was whispering through the trees. You could almost hear the low howl of wolves in the

distance, and the constant questioning of owls. My bare feet squished in the new mud. I stared at the

full moon, it was enchanting. The howling was encircling me the echoes farther out but the source so

close the leaves trembled. The first one appeared out of the shadows and four others followed. I

stepped back bumping into one of the beasts. It's head swung and it's jaw snapped around my calf.

Blood spilled out over the swamp. Another bite into my hip and his friend began to gnaw on my arm.
