~Merida and Hiccup~
"Mum, were are we going?" Melissa asked, their footsteps echoing off of the hospital walls. Merida was finally ready, and she hoped Hiccup was ready too. It had been months since his crash and he had gotten better, like, a million times better.
"We're going to see Daddy." Merida answered, a smiling growing on her face. Melissa squealed, jumping up and down. She had seen pictures of her dad since the crash, but she was never allowed to see him. Her mum said that he was sick and she couldn't see him until he was better.
"Mummy, will I get to hug him?" She grinned, her green eyes lighting up like the northern lights.
"Yes, baby." Merida replied back, a smile plastered on her face.
"And kiss him?" Melissa quickly added as Merida bent down to kneel at Melissa level.
"Of course," Merida exclaimed, making Melissa laugh and tap her feet on the ground. Merida held onto Melissa's shoulders, looking into her bright green eyes. "You run in there and you give him all the hugs and kisses your heart desires." Merida explained.
Quickly, Melissa ran to the door, jumping up and down as she waited for Merida to pick up and Henry and open the door. Merida took a deep breath as she opened the door, watching Melissa run inside.
"Daddy!" She screamed, running to his bed. She jumped in, quickly pulling him into a hug. She smashing her lips all over his face, making sure to kiss every spot. Hiccup laughed, pulling her off to look at his daughter's face. "I missed you so much!" She grinned.
He looked into his matching green eyes. He ran his fingers through his daughter red curls that matched Merida's. He couldn't deny that this was his daughter, even though he couldn't remember her. "I missed you too, sweetheart." He chuckled back, tears forming in his eyes.
She giggled, wrapped his arms around his neck. He closed his eyes, leaning against as he hugged her back. Tears ran down his face. Hiccup accepted the fact that he would never remember life before the crash, but he knew it wasn't fair to his daughter or his wife.
He would never remember the last five years. He would never remember the first time he laid eyes on Merida or when they first kissed. He would never remember the day his children were born or the first time Melissa talked. Everything he currently knew was something he was told. The past five years were just morphed together into some strange story he accepted was true.
If the crash wouldn't have happened, how different would their lives be?
"Would you like to hold Henry?" Merida offered, slightly sniffling. Hiccup nodded his head as Melissa let go of her dad, but still stayed on his lap. Merida slipped their baby into his arms. Hiccup awed as he stared into his son's blue eyes.
"Hi, Henry. It's your daddy here." Hiccup spoke, his voice slightly shaking. Henry smiled, leaning into Hiccup's chest.
Merida loudly sighed as she leaned against Hiccup's shoulder. Melissa followed her mother's actions, leaning against his other side. "Henry's gotten way bigger since you've been home." Melissa spoke.
Hiccup glanced at his daughter, a soft smile on his face. "How so?"
"Well, now Henry can roll over. He's like Angus and Toothless." She explained, making Merida and Hiccup laughed.
"Angus and Toothless will be excited to see you tonight." Merida smiled, brushing Hiccup's hair out of his eyes.
Melissa gasped. "Daddy's coming home with us?" She asked.
