When I woke up there was still daylight and I was still home alone. I decided to get up and start my homework but within a few hours I couldn't concentrate all I could think about was about the boy -wait that boy is Zeke! He said that my father was dead because of the man, but my mother said he left right after Sky was born.

Who was lying and who can I trust?

I hear the door open then close. I walk out of my room and Sky is walking up the last step, we say our hellos and I start going down the stairs to talk to my mother.

When I was near the kitchen I could hear her on the phone but she sounded very annoyed at the other person. " I don't care what Stephen is doing! He kil-." I was walking in the kitchen as she was turning around and she stopped talking. I tilted my head at her wondering what she was going to say. She broke out of the trance she was in and told the person she had to go. She turned back around and started to put the groceries away. "So mom. Who is Stephen? Who were you on the phone with?" She continued to put the food away and I watched waiting for her answer.

Finally she was done but was silent as if pondering what she was going to say. "It's not the right time to tell you sweetheart." I decided to drop the conversation, and build the courage to ask about my father again. "Mom. What really happened with dad?" She turned around and looked directly into my eyes. It was like she was looking into my soul. "Your father left when Sky was born. Jordan you know this. I told you a million times." She looked at the ground and shook her head. "Mom, please! I'm begging you. Tell me the truth. I'm no longer a child. I can handle it." I walked up to her and held her hand giving it a light squeeze. She mumbled something, I quite didn't hear but when she looked up her eyes were red and a few stray tears were fallen down her cheeks.

When she finally spoke I wish I never had asked her "Jordan baby. After your father left, a couple years later he died in a car accident." At that moment it felt like my heart stopped, like time it's self had stopped. I back away from her and kept replying what she just said. When I looked back at her she was sobbing uncontrollably, I wanted to comfort her but my body refused to move. Sky came into the kitchen and looked between mom and I with her eyebrows raise and a questionable look on her face. "What's going on?" She looked between us again. I walked up to her, putting my hand on her shoulder and squeezed lightly. "Nothing Sky. Don't worry about it. Go help mom."

I walk away as fast as my legs would go and  up the stairs to my bedroom. I laid on my bed and started to wonder if she was telling me the truth or if it was a lie. I got up and changed into pajamas then layed down and fell asleep.

I was in the alley again but this time there was no crazy man or a boy. I started to walk down the alley when I numbed into a hard chest that almost knocked me down but before I could a strong arm wrapped around my waist and held me up. When I looked up Zeke was the one I ran into and I felt embarrassed for not paying attention. "Uh. Thank you." He let me go but didn't say anything.

Why does he look so upset? He didn't look at me and we stood in an awkward silence. He was the first to talk "Jordan I wasn't lying when I said he was murdered." He stepped closer to me, grabbing my shoulders, and looking deep into my eyes "Your family is in danger. Please try to remember. You are their only hope. The dreams will help you. Listen to them and do not be afraid. Dreams can not lie. They tell a story that is buried deep within our sub consciences. I will be with you every step of the way. I promise." He let go and turned around but then his body tenses. I looked around him and at the end of the alley was a man pointing a gun at us...
