The Boy In All Black

Henry's phone buzzes while we're playing 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 2' so he stops paying attention, immediately his face pales. As soon as I'm about to ask what was going on my phone goes off and Jordan's name pops up on the screen. My heart is already racing from Henry's reaction. I'm not ready for what I see, I looked directly at Henry, but he is already throwing on his jacket and walking towards the door. I'm on my feet as I reply to Jordan letting her know we are on the way.

    When we arrive at the hospital it's already dark. Speed walking to the waiting area I see Jordan leaning over with her hands resting on her chin, lost in thought she hasn't noticed us. Henry walks past me and lays his hand on Blaire's shoulder, making her and Jordan jump. "Sorry about that. I didn't mean to scare y'all" Henry rubs the back of his head and gives them a goofy smile. Blaire smiles, "It's okay darling." Jordan has already went back to her regular position, lost in her thoughts. As I walk over to her, Blaire has already begun to catch Henry up on Sky.

    I kneel in front of Jordan so I won't scare her. When she looked up her eyes were red from crying, worry is sketched across her face. I take her hand and stand, pulling her up with me. "Jordan and I are going to go get some fresh air" looking at Blaire for her reply. She shakes her head and continues her conversation with Henry, and I gently pull Jordan bringing her out of her thoughts. Her hair is covering her face so I can't tell if she is okay.  

    As we walk down the hallways the only sound was our footsteps echoing off the walls. When we started to get closer to the entrance her hand tighten around mine. Her breathing started to pick up and her hand began to sweat. Walking down the sidewalk she suddenly stops, she lets go of my hand letting it settle by her side, her head lowered to the ground. I took a step closer to her. Then I hear her sniffle and saw tears hit the sidewalk. I place my finger on her chin and gently lifted it up so that she is looking at me. So I wiped her tears with one hand and the other pushing the hair out of her face. "Sky is strong. You of all people should know this" I look into her eyes letting her know she can open up to me, anytime.

    "I'm scared Zeke. I can't lose her too" more tears started to fall and she clutches on to my jacket, burying her face into my chest. I wrap my arms around her and rest my chin on top of her head. We stand there for a few minutes and the only sound was Jordan sniffling. Her grip on my jacket loosens so I loosen my arms around her so I can look at her. "Thank you for letting me use you as a tissue" she smiles, but it doesn't reach her eyes. "Anything for you" I kiss her forehead and lead her back inside. "Lets go check on Sky and your mom" when I look back she is already lost deep within her thoughts.

    When we're back in the waiting room Blaire looks up and smiles "Jordan, while you were gone, the doctor came back" Jordan interrupts her. "Is she okay? What did he say?" Blaire takes her daughters hand "She is stable and is sleeping now. She has pneumonia and giving her immune system it got worse a lot faster. She is going to be fine. The doctor said she is going to be okay. She just needs to rest. Oh, I asked Henry if he could take you home." Jordan looks between her mother and Henry. "I want to stay here! Besides who will stay with you?" Before Blaire could reply I intervened "I'll take Jordan home and Henry will stay with your mom."

In the end Jordan lost the fight with her mom and now I'm taking her home. "THIS SUCKS! I wanted to be there when Sky wakes up" she's pissed. "I know you do, but you have to listen to your mom. Besides you're exhausted and you need to rest."

She sighs and looks out the window. When we pull into her driveway she is already asleep. I gently shake her to wake her up. "Time to wake up. We are at your house" she doesn't wake up. I brush the hair out of her face and smiled at how beautiful is. Stop being a creep and wake her up. "Jordan it's time to wake up.  I'm not going to carry you" she finally wakes up. She rubs her eyes and stretches "Where are we?" "At your house Jordan" I shake my head trying not to laugh. She opens the car door and walks toward the front door. When I walk up the steps she is having trouble finding her keys so I turn the flashlight on my phone on "Jesus woman what is in that purse of yours?" She hits my shoulder and mumbles something. Opening the front door she throws her purse onto a table near the door and I close and lock the door. When I turn around she is laying on the couch watching tv.

    I walk over to the couch and tap her shoulder. Her hazel eyes looks up and met my eyes. "Can I sit beside you?" I smile wanting to get closer to her again. She sits up and moves over. "How are you feeling?" my voice is barley above a whisper. "I'm feeling better since I'm out of that damn hospital" she leans her head back on the arm rest. "I just wish I could do more for her. She's been through so much. Never meeting our father, in and out of the hospital. She's too perfect to be going through this. If I could, I would take her place in a heart beat." I held her hand letting her know that I'm there for her.

    Minutes go by and she hasn't said anything, so I turn to look at her. When I turned her head falls on my shoulder and her eyes are closed. I tried to move, but her arms snaked around my arm and tighten around it. "Please don't go. I don't want to be alone" her voice was soft and I couldn't help but smile. "Okay princess. I'll stay" I kissed her forehead and covered us up.

I waited in the dark alley thinking about the past and the oath that we all took. To sever and protect the Knight family no matter what.

Tonight is when the truth comes to the light. I hope that she will forgive me for keeping the Kings secret. After all he is her father.

The King made sure his daughters forgot about their life at the castle. He found a witch to suppress their memories.

When Jordan became of age to become the Queen was when the process of her remembering them came into place.

That's the reason for these dreams. It's safer for her and for her father. They can be together at least. Twelve long years have past and Henry had to watch his best friend grow up without remembering him.

I missed out on so much because I had to deal with everything at the kingdom. Then that bastard took everything away and made the Knight family a target.

I had to save her. She's the love of my life.

Two hearts, one soul.

I watched them run for their lives as I hid from sight. I must wait until the time is right to take what was always meant to be mine.
