"Oh there you are, glad to see you back in one piece," Monika sat across from me in her usual style.I laughed. "School is a pain in the ass but I'm not going to die over it," I was glad to see that she was as normal and cheerful as ever.
"That's right... I've been meaning to ask you... are you in college, high school, middle school maybe? What do you study?" She blushed slightly. "I want to know more about you, Ricky."
It was my turn to be embarrassed, I scratched my neck. "Well, technically I'm in my senior year of high school, but due to the fact I finished all my core credits I'm able to go to a day-long technical college class."
"Oh, you must be really smart then!"
"I mean... I don't want to brag," I laughed. In all seriousness, I got most of my core credits just scraping by with a C. It just so happened I had double math and double English one year.
"Well, what do you study at the college?"
"Well, I do HVAC which is Heating, ventilation and Air Conditioning," I shrugged. "Not the most glamorous thing, but it pays well, especially in the south."
She smiled, closing her eyes and tilting her head. "Ah, well, you seem really handy."
"Yeah, I guess so..." We sat in silence for a while.
Popping up excitedly, she smiled. "Ah, I thought of something we could do!" moving back her chair, she walked over to the closest. She took out some materials and walked back over to where I was sitting. "Here," She laid out the items in front of me.
"Hm, what's all of this for?" I questioned.
She smiled. "Well, I thought It'd be fun to go back to our roots and write some poetry together!" She grabbed a pencil and placed the tip on the paper. "Just like old times!" She seemed pretty cheerful about this idea.
I laughed. "Why not? Though I'll actually have to write it out this time, not just pick twenty random words and let the game do the rest."
"Yeah, this time you'll actually have to do some work!" She teased.
"Oh give me a break, I had to deal with writing poetry during my creative writing classes throughout middle school and high school. I could come up with something to write, no problem."
She jolted her head back slightly. She looked shocked. "You took creative writing? I had no idea you liked doing so."
I'm not Riku y'know, I actually have some experience with literature. "Oh yeah, writing's pretty fun. It's kind of a passion of mine... Well, I have a couple of passions, but none of them are that serious."
"Oh? What are they? I'm really curious now." She leaned forward, putting her head in both of her hands.
"Writing, music, and sports... I'm pretty good at all three of them... but I know I won't get anywhere unless I drop the other two and focus on one. I already had to drop basketball because of a bad shoulder injury... So I guess I'm down to music and writing."
"Wow, I never knew you were so diverse in your hobbies."
"Yeah most people don't, I don't really share my music or my writing with anyone else. The only thing people know I do is play sports, or... used to play sports."
"Oh, and why's that?"
I Shrugged like I didn't know, but I knew. Oh, I knew alright. "Well, I guess that I... I'm a bit self-conscious when it comes to the creative side of me. I usually put a lot of love and heart into the things I create, and you just don't show everyone your love and heart on a daily basis right?"
