Bloodshed

A heart was attached to a red balloon. Beating fast. I reached out for it but it got farther away. Blood began to seep from it, spreading in the darkness like it was in a tub of water. I continued to follow the trail of blood, reaching and grabbing at the heart. I came to a room of mirrors, the heart on the balloon duplicated in every reflection. I turned corners getting lost. I screamed. I screamed for Pennywise and not a single word was spoken. The mirrors shattered popping the balloons and leaving the beating hearts in a puddle of glass and blood. I picked them up and held both in my hands. One was slightly bigger than the other. A voice rang all around me and I clutched the hearts to my chest.

Wake up!

I gasped sitting upward. Penny was sitting at the foot of my bed, his hand resting on my calf. "Another nightmare?"

"Y-yeah." I plopped back down. "I'm staying home today."

"I won't be able to stay home with you. I have business elsewhere."

I sat up again. "Richie?"

"More than just him. I can't say anymore, I need food." I slipped my pants and shoes on and grabbed his hand right as he went through the sink. "Damn you, Klea."

"I told you many times before. You're stuck with me."

"I can't have you endangered. These guys are threatening my life so I'm threatening back. You have no reason to fight them."

"You. The baby. My reasons."

"I said no." He growled.

"Fuck you!" My voice echoed. I punched his chest. "Fuck you fuck you fuck you! Yes! I'm going!" He flinched. It must be my eyes again.

"I know you're meaning well, but I can't stand the thought of you getting hurt because of my problems. You scare the shit out of me and I love you, but no. Please don't follow me. You'll know I'm fine when I send you a balloon." He brushed my hair from my eyes and took me back to me room. "Eat and stay away from the sewers."

I watched him leave. The room was dark, like he'd left a shadow behind. I hate the dark, afraid of what's in it.
I reached for my back pack, dumping the contents. I stuffed it with my emergency kit, an extra jacket, and my laptop. The wind slammed my door open scaring me half to death. I opened my dresser drawer taking a velvet wrapped butterfly knife out of the corner.

I flipped it a few times before grabbing everything and running downstairs to the basement. I'd found the well down there fixing the fuse box for light. It was deep and black so I dropped a glow stick. The thing was deep, really deep. I tied rope to pipes across the room testing my weight on it.  Once it was secure. I slowly inched my way down the well. I could hardly see.
The walls were slimy, covered in different fluids. My feet slipped into an opening in the side, almost falling into the darkness below. I took a deep breath and onward I went into the opening. The smell was rancid, tasted even worse. I flicked my flashlight on, jumping into a wider tunnel, grey water splashing around my knees. I could hear talking behind me, my Dad and lots more.

Rocks fell around me as I ran through the long dark halls of the sewers trying to get to Pennywise before them. I don't know where to go, where am I? Every thing looked the same, I was panicking.

"-Don't be in control."

"Just breathe."

I stopped and closed my eyes. My dads words echoed in my mind. Breathe.
"Deep breath in, and let it out." I screamed and stopped to listen. The farthest echo was the way to go. He likes the darkest of places, and the deeper into the sewers the darker it gets. I took off running, rats scatter at the sight of me. I stopped to see where I was, turning my flashlight off. I felt hands around my legs and flicked the light back on. There were none.
Off. Hands. On. No hands.

Why was he doings this? He knows I hate things in the dark. I turned a corner facing my flashlight light downward. Faint light shone from an opening. I could see Pennywise's pile. I went to run when a hand grabbed my shoulder and I screamed.

"Hey, hey. I'm a friend of the librarian Mike. My name's Eddie." I looked to the others behind him.

"What are you doing down here?" The woman asked.

"I could ask you the same." They gave me a look and I gave. "I'm looking for a friend. We got in a fight and I need to talk to him."

"Uh, OK." I recognized the voice. "Well we need to get out of this shithole before I go insane!"

"Hey. Calm you tits, Richie. I've been in these sewer everyday for the past month and I don't need tourists messing with my turf."

I went to leave again but Richie grabbed my arm. "We aren't tourists, tiny."

"No your just old." Pennywise laughed behind me. I turned facing his clown identity. "I told you not to follow me, Klea."

"My life, my choices." I whipped out my blade and turned back to the group. "Leave us alone." They backed up. I could see my orange eyes reflect off Eddie's glasses.

"Holy shit, there's two." The stocky on in back whispered.

"I'm don't eat people." Penny pulled me back pushing me into the pile room. I saw the floating kids again and the sight made me vomit. I stood. They were fighting him, but he was strong. I took on step and he yelled at me.

"Go home Klea!" I stepped into the darkness. Hands were attacking my feet again and I screamed, kicking at them. He wanted me to be scared of him. I wasn't. I can't be afraid him. There was a screech. I looked over, a giant alien like creature roared at the group. It was him, I could feel it. I wanted to save him but a forcefield locked me outside of the pile room. The monster pushed Eddie away trying to get to me, Eddie hitting his head. It screeched again and Penny's voice hit my ears.
Go!  It yelled.

"I can't. I can't. I won't leave you!" I banged on the clear wall between us. The woman took a gun and aimed for the creature and shot. Time slowed, all I  could do was watch and scream. The silver bullet hit his under belly as I took my knife to the forcefield. It screamed and fell into a hole as the field shattered and I fell into the room. I ran to the hole, looking into nothing.

"Penny! Pennywise!!!" I screamed for him, my voice was raw. One of the guys pulled me back from where Penny fell. "No no no no no no no. Come back, Penny please. I need you." I looked up at the group, there was another woman, staring off into space. I looked at all their faces. They were crying over Eddie's death and I was crying over Pennywise. I gave the redhead girl a look of hate. I hate her.

"I. Hate. You..." I growled. "You killed him! I hate you!" I stood grabbed my back pack and ran. I ran out of the sewers into the woods. I ran till my feet bled and my head hurt. I ran into the darkness. I ran till I passed out.
