The thing that she hated most is wasting her time. She maybe grew up in the Philippines but she didn't adopt the filipino time. When someone declared what time she should be in the place, she will be there before the tic-tac. She's in a coffee shop where Lisa texted her to meet. The meeting time should be exactly 8 am but her good friends is 20 minutes late. "They're really siblings!" She thought.
Finally, she saw Lisa entered the shop. She waved at her so she will know where she's sitting. She walked towards her and gave her a kiss before settling down in her chair.
"You're late!" I chided.
She sighed. "I know. I'm so sorry, beshie. My husband can't get enough of me so I ended up late." She explained.
"Hmf... I really need to meet your husband for being a hindrance." I smirked.
She eyeing me disapprovingly. "Then what? Stating how attracted you are towards my possession? No way!"
I laughed. "Nah, I already set my eyes on someone."
She stared at her, knowingly. " You've changed." She stated.
We gave orders to the waitress who approached us before I faced her again. "So are you."
"Just a little. But you? Oh my gosh, you're becoming a bitch day by day."
She shocked me at her statement. I rose my eyebrow. "You really wounded me with your revelation, b-pic-f. Experience is the best teacher and you're the principal. What can I say? The principal taught me more than my professor." I reciprocate her judgement.
She laughed, heartily. "Alright, you win. You're so heartless when it comes to me."
I sipped the coffee that the waiter delivered to us. "Such a bold accusation, bessy."
"Whatever. So how's life? Did it turn out the way you wanted? I'm so sorry, I didn't attend your mother's funeral. I felt bad about it." She patted my hand lazily placed in the table.
I touched her hand to give her assurance. "Don't be. I understand. You have your own dilemma then."
"Yeah! By the way, are you living here in new york already? Since when?"
"Nope. Just a vacation. I visited my grandmother here. I have life in the Philippines you know."
"Aww! I thought we can spend more time together. Till when are you staying?"
"1 month. Why? Are you staying here for good?"
"Nope. Just this week. We're celebrating my daughter's birthday in advance."
"Eh? When is her birthday? I want to meet your daughter. I really missed a lot in your life, Lisa."
"Same here. But hey, we did met again so we have the time of the world to be present again in each other's lives. Besides, It happens that the apple of your eye is my brother." She wiggled her eyebrows to tease me.
"Well, I think I have lots of work to do just so my amore realized what am I to him in a flesh." I grinned.
She smiled mischievously towards my direction and sipped her coffee. She shakes her head while smiling from ear to ear.
"What are you thinking? I'm hoping we're in the same team? Do I have your support?"
"I only want what's best for you and my brother. Of course my support is in you. Any progress? You look like you've already aimed the target."
I grimaced. "Yeah, I'm about to shoot but there's a lot of barrier."
She nodded when she understand who am I referring. His admirers are surely something. Worshipping him from head to toe. Who would have thought that he has 10 million followers on IG? He can be an instant celebrity and model. I'm just thankful that IG is his only social media. While her? Just a readers and no followers.
