Joy is light and airy

It's here and then it's gone.

Sadness pushes in our brain-

We wear it like a crown.

Whispy, filmy gladness-

Rejoices like a bell.

Oppressive heavy sadness,

Shrieks inside, a private hell.

Oh, to let the inner peace

Drift down from head to toe.

Yet, contentment can't remain-

As shadows in us grow.

How long, you ask, must we endure-

Tears and harsh refrain.

The answer lies within

Your heart and never in your brain.
