Out Of Time

Chapter 7

Alexa's POV

It's been a month since I visited Diagon Alley. It is the night before September 1st.

I read and read the textbooks for hours, trying get myself to fall asleep. After approximately 2 hours, I felt my eyes getting heavier and heavier.

Ah, at long last, peaceful sleep.

But oh how wrong was I.

I was running, running for my dear life. My chest felt like it was about to explode, my sides feels like they have stitches. My legs were gonna give out any time soon.

Explosions and shouting can be heard somewhere on my far right. I turned my head and caught a glimpse of blonde hair.

And then I was falling. Around me were other bodies, screaming. It took me a moment to realize that I was screaming with them.

"Avada Kedavra!!"

As soon as I saw the emerald green flash of light, and a body collapsing, my heart dropped.

"NO!! NO!!"

This is all my fault. I was supposed to stop this from happening. And yet I couldn't. I'm useless.

I slowly opened my eyes, tears streaming down my face. Was that all just a dream? It felt so real, the death, the sorrow, all my fault.

I reached over to the night stand and grabbed my phone. One of the only things that I owned that came with me. Looking back at old text messages, I realized how much I miss my world. Waking up to my mom and dad in the dining room. My sister doing her make up and rushing out to make it to the bus.

There was a time when I would give up everything to be where I am right now. But now, I would do anything to go back. However, I'm here now, and with a purpose. To save as many lives as I can, help the Order of the Phoenix, even if it's not back together yet.

But yet I still feel like I can't do it. Even if Dumbledore himself said that I came here with a purpose, I just can't imagine it. I'm not brave, I run away from my problems. I don't think I can do this.

Reading books was my escape. I felt like I belong in the story. I used to imagine that I was there, by Harry's side, during his adventures. But that's all it was. A dream. A fantasy.

Is it though? Just a dream? I'm in his World now aren't I? What if I can be by his side? Helping him to succeed. Hope filled me, knowing that I can change certain thing for the better. Don't be ridiculous, I thought to myself, you'll only get in the way!

But Dumbledore said that I was sent here for a reason. That I was here to help, to fight back. I'm here, and I can't afford to back down now. Lives are at stake, and I think I'm the only one who could change the future.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

I flinched, getting startled at the sudden booming sound. "Coming!!"

I carefully rolled my earbuds around my phone and gently set it down on top of my suitcase (its been a hot minute since I've read the books and I don't remember if they call it suitcase in England so I'm just gonna use American terms). I walked towards the down and slowly opened it. I was met with a chest in some rather old suit.

"Uh, hello..?" I said, not knowing who was in front of me.

The man chuckled, "Hello Alexa, I'm here to accompany you to platform 9 and 3/4."

"Oh! Let me just get changed in the bathroom. Please come in!"

I rushed to get the outfit I had already picked out the other day. A blue pullover and black leggings. I quickly changed in the bathroom attached to the room and went back into the room in a record time.

The man was sitting on the chair by the bed, looking around the room. I took a good look at him when I had the chance. He seemed fairly young, couldn't be over 40, probably younger. His clothes were rather old though.

"Are you ready?" he asked, getting up.

"Oh yeah," I said as I picked up my suitcase, discreetly slipping my phone in my carry on bag, "say, what did you say your name was?"

The man chuckled as he opened the door and stepped out of the room. "I don't think I introduced myself. I'm Remus, Remus Lupin."

Ahaha so, did you guys missed me? I bet not. Sorry for the uh, long wait. I bet you guys hate me😞. Anyways, I wasn't really sure if I'm going to continue this story, but I saw how many people were asking for an update and I started this chapter a while ago, so I just decided to finish it. I still don't know if I'm going to be updating after this, hopefully I will. But I did start this book a few years ago, so I don't really remember what I was planning on writing.
