"Let's go to Subway," I stated.
"Okay," Jake replied.
Jake and I trudged back across the airport floor. I was surprised Jake had put up with all day of being at the gloomy airport. I knew he would rather be doing something else since we didn't have to be there until 2:30 and the time was 12:45. We finally arrived at Subway and a clerk with long, swaying blonde hair admired Jake face. A sudden rush of jealousy swept over me.
Tayler stop it! God doesn't like that. Remember, do all that you do with love.
I composed myself again and ordered.
"Having fun," I sarcastically asked.
Jake spoke while wearing his classic sideways smile," You bet."
I was so elated to go to the Bahamas on a mission trip I was bouncing in my seat. I took a moment to observe my surroundings. The walls were plastered with horrendous wallpaper
print and the floors was tile in an assortment of colors. I giggled aloud.
"What are you laughing at, dork," Jake asked.
"Oh, so now I'm a dork? Thanks," I replied with a smirk blooming on my face.
"Yeah, no problem. We're staying in a little house with supposedly the only Christian family in the village."He said.
"Wow. That's really sad." I stated.
"Flight 22. Last call for passengers boarding flight 22 arriving in the Bahamas,"The flight announcer spoke over the intercom.
"That's us," I alleged with exaggeration.
Jake and I abandoned the leftovers of our sandwiches and hastily sprinted toward gate 49. In my panic I showed by true colors by tripping over my own feet. I sprang back up franticly, brushing myself off and continuing my marathon. With mere seconds to spare Jake and I settled into our picked over seats in the backend of the aircraft.
"Wasn't that close," I said.
"Way to state the obvious," he replied.
"You are being rude to me today," I said turning away from him.
I waited like a dog waiting for a decadent treat from his owner. I was willing to wait for Jake to give me an apology. Although he did make me feel upset, I exaggerated it. A slight feeling of guilt came over me. Before I could turn around admit that I was in the wrong, Jake apologized.
"Tayler, you're right I am being rude and I'm sorry," Jake stated with a look of true meaning on his face.
I abruptly turned and hugged him awkwardly in my seat. I was somewhat random like this.
"No, I'm sorry I was upset but I exaggerated it," I blurted out.
He gave me an unreadable look and hugged me back. I turned straight in my seat and mulled over what had just gone on. I got mad at him occasionally but Jake was one of the best guys I knew and I thought I knew quite a few guys.
