This is something that I've done. Made up languages has less rules than real ones. But that doesn't exempt them from certain rules. Here is a few that I think should be the minimum:

1. Do not make it racially offensive. Doing this can get your Wattpad account banned. Offending people by do this is not right. Besides no reader wants to read a story with this.

2. If a character is using a made up language, how do they convey a message? This is something to consider every time you make them say in that language. After all, language is used to converse words and meaning to each of the characters to each other.

3. Does the language have accents? You might not think about it. Every language in the world have an accent. A way to pronouncing words. For example: the only non accent English version of the language is made up. That is right, made up. Why?

It was invented to communicate with all people of the English speaking community. Some accents is harder to convey a message to a person speaking in another accent. Therefore the cause to have this version. It is neat to think.

After all, itself is a way to show how a character talk. The person's upbringing or environment influence the accent. It can be taught or shared. But please do not over exaggerate without a reason. It is cringe worthy when it is done incorrectly.

4. This is optional:

This is a challenge idea. Have a person in the made up language try to communicate with someone who doesn't speak it. How they interact? What bodily gestures or lack of it? You don't have to write about it in a story. But this is a nice practice when thinking up a made up language. You might be able to figure how to structure it from this practice.
