Chapter Forty

"Why did you leave?" Jungkook turned human before anybody else did. Including me.

"I didn't want false feelings off of some Prince." I spoke as I changed, his face turned from serious to a frown.

"You really think my feelings for you were fake?"

I looked down.

"I know so, you can lure in girls with your looks and your charms and then you'll change them. Your love will lie with whomever you changed last."

"Jagiya, my heart doesn't work like that. I wouldn't change you for the world. I've had to change others but the thing you don't understand is that on that night when you turned sixteen, I chose to change you, I wouldn't have chose you if I didn't love you." His voice broke. "I loved you before you changed, I know we didn't know each other much but I fell in love seeing your resilience, your smile in the middle of the night as you thought happy memories..."

"Why would I believe someone who didn't even know they were a prince over someone who has a high IQ and knows more about the history of wolves than you do?" I argued back.

"Because I love you- please..." he whispered. My heart was desperate to go to him.

'Again, I hear your thoughts, go back to him.' Yugyeoms voice entered my head and I felt the tears slip, slowly at first before all together. His arms wrapped around me and I broke down sobbing as my arms wrapped around his neck.

"I missed you!" I whimpered and he held me as close as he could. "I love you."

He chuckled softly. "I love you too. Now please, honestly tell me if it was Yugyeoms idea to run away or yours."

"Mine..." I looked down, ashamed now he had mentioned it.

"Appa!" I heard the voice and I turned quick, and Soo Jung was walking as fast as she could down the path towards us. I stepped back from Jungkook quickly as I sensed it before it happened. I quickly turned and scooped up the small child in my arms as she started to fall. Her eyes widened as she spotted the other wolves. "Who?" She pointed.

"Your other uncles." I spoke quietly. She clung to me and Jungkook stood there for a few minutes watching with soft eyes.

"I'm guessing Yugyeom is her father?" Jungkook sounded hurt.

"I'm not." Yugyeom scared me by speaking. I hadn't hear him come out. "I'm uncle Oogi apparently."

"Appa." Soo Jung reached for Jungkook. Jungkook froze and I held back a giggle. "Appa!" She demanded and that snapped Jungkook out of his daydream and he hesitated before slowly taking a hold of her. She prodded at his face gently.

"She seems so much older than she is..." He mumbled quietly.

"She's a wolf baby born of two very powerful wolves. She'll mature much faster as her job one day will be to rule the wolves." Namjoon commented. Jungkook let out a small sniffle and I looked up at him and he was stood there with a smile on his face but tears streaming down his cheeks.

"So no more running away right?" He whispered quietly. "We're one happy family again?"

I nodded and he pulled me close, but due to our attention elsewhere we didn't realise until the gunshot echoed.

"Shit!" Someone yelled and-
