After school I waited out by the bike rake as Calum requested. I clutched my books close to my chest as students rushed past, what Calum could possibly need me for after school was beyond me. I just really wanted to go home and take a long nap, it was definitely needed.
"Hey! Poppy!" Calum came speeding towards me, dodging kids here and there, I smiled as he approached. "Come on, walk with me." So I did, we walked down the pathway and through the parking lot.
"Where are we going?" I asked, "I have to be home by six."
Calum smiled, "we're going to band practice." His gaze shifted from the ground to my face, "you're going to be our first audience."
"Are you sure? I mean, I don't think the other boys want me to be. I mean, that's perfectly fine, you don't have to invite the new girl over, I get it." I smiled, "but, like, I don't want you to feel obliged-"
"Poppy, its fine. Stop using big words, you're coming over."
