September 1, 1962

It was the first day of school after summer. Flo hadn't had much of a summer break this year, for she and her family had been busy all summer moving from their home country, The Netherlands, to the immense country that are the United States of America.

The language wouldn't be a problem for Flo, since English was basically her second language. She was self-taught and she got her vocabulary from books she read, movies she saw, but mostly from her biggest passion in life: music. Preferably rock 'n roll.

Flo would dissect each words of the lyrics she knew by heart, until she fully understood what they meant. Her all-time favorite lines she wrote down in a small notebook with a flowery cover. That way she could cherish them forever, and look at them when she felt sad or lonely.

She'd also write her own songs from time to time.

Next to the keeping of her favorite song lyrics, the book also served a purpose as some sort of diary. She wouldn't write in it on a daily basis, however, the little booklet she mostly used to contemplate the answers to her burning unanswered questions about anything, from life and death to boys she had a crush on.

'Kom op Floor, naar school!*' her mother called her from down the stairs to go to school. At home, the main language was still Dutch. 'Ja mam, ik ga al!**' she yelled back from her bedroom.

*: Come on Flo, time for school! ; **: Yes mom, already going!

Flo quickly slipped into her school uniform, put on her loafers, grabbed her bag that was loaded with school books and ran to the school bus that was awaiting her outside, about to drive off without her. She almost jumped inside and just as she sat down, the vehicle started moving.

The bus stopped in front of the building that was her high school.

"Westview High School"

the big golden letters, that were engraved in the marble stone that covered the front of the building, read.

'Well, this is it. Now to find my locker and my classroom.'

Flo walked up the stairs, through the door of the big building. She walked to the administration office to get her locker key and her schedule. Locker 184, let's see.

Not long after, she found her locker. It was huge compared to the small square Dutch lockers she had known back home.

'Hey, you're new here, aren't you?' Flo heard a girl's voice say. She turned around, and behind her stood a cute girl with a pixie cut and black eye makeup, that accentuated her beautiful and big brown eyes perfectly. 'Uh, yeah, I am! I'm Flo, I'm from the Netherlands.' Flo smiled and held out her hand.

The girl, who just as tall as Flo, shook her hand and said: "It's so nice to meet you, Flo! My name is Gina. I noticed from your accent that you had to be from Europe, and I was right!" Gina giggled. Flo thought her new friend had a lovely smile. 'What year are you in?' Gina asked. 'Year 11, what about you?' Flo answered. 'Oh me too! This is great! All my friends went to different schools, and now I'm all alone... I'm glad you're so nice! Is your supervisor by any chance Mr. Jackson?' 'Yes, he is! So that means we're classmates, right?' Flo smiled.

'Yep! Okay, awesome! Let's get you settled first.' Gina smiled back.

Flo opened up her locker and Gina helped her put the books she didn't need today in her locker. Just as the two girls were about to go to room 135, the room where they'd have the first class of the day, English, Flo noticed that two boys, about their age, had been staring at them the whole time. One of them had dark brown curly hair, that reached just above his shoulders. He was quite skinny compared to his friend, who was of average size. Gina, who'd also turned around by now, was impressed by his broad shoulders and his dark blonde curls, while Flo was completely mesmerized by the skinny guy's deep greenish eyes. 'You think... You think we should say hi to those guys over there? They seem nice.' Gina said to Flo.

'Good idea, let's go over there! But wait... How do I look?' Gina looked up and down Flo's body. 'You look stunning, trust me. And what about me, do I look a bit acceptable?' 'Acceptable? Honey, you look gorgeous! Now, let's make ourselves familiar with those guys, shall we?' she said. Gina nodded and giggled.

"Shit man, they're really coming over here!" Bon said as he ran his hand through his brown curls. 'Damn... Our plan really worked!' his friend Brian said. Bon saw the two new girls, a red head and a blonde, who he and his friend had been staring at, walking towards them. Bon had always had a thing for blondes, but this girl...

Her beauty was on a whole new level. She had beautiful ocean blue eyes, lips that looked like rose petals and lovely wavy hair, of which he could only imagine the delicious smell of... 'Perfume...' he thought. And then there was that banging body of hers: all the right curves in all the right places. 'Alright. Don't screw this up, don't screw this up!' he thought as she approached.
