*BRADLEY'S POV*
'Dear Diary, Story 6
The blonde insisted we watched my favourite show, but I had other things in mind. I pretended to be interested in what was going on on the screen, but my mind was in other places. I wondered if we'd ever get together or if we'd just stay in this awkward stage. The beautiful blonde caressed my curls as we went through an entire episode of Hannah Montana. I knew all of the words, which always made him giggle.'
"Oh hey," Con said with a not so convincing smile.
"Hey." I replied, looking back at Adam who had the most confused look on his face.
"Oh, you two know each other?" Adam asked.
"Yeah." Me and Con spoke in unison. It was awkward, in fact, it was more than awkward. One of the worst things that can happen to you is going from being best friends with somebody to nothing, and I hadn't spoken to Connor in six months. Not that he cared anyway, he was too busy with his new life with James.
"It's a year today you know." Con said, trying to make conversation. I sighed to myself discreetly, as I was trying to keep that a secret from my new friend Adam.
"A year since what?" Adam chirped in.
"Yeah, it is." I forced a smile, ignoring Adam's question for now as I handed Connor both dessert menus back. "It's chocolate fudge for both of us." I finished.
"You know for a second, I thought your friend here was Tristan." Con chuckled as he put the menus under his arm and wrote down the order.
I felt my stomach drop as he mentioned his name. I hadn't heard anyone actually say it in forever. Anything Tristan related I tried to block out of my mind, except when I was at home with my diary.
"Who?" Adam interrupted, his tone intrigued.
"Can you just give us a second?" I smiled at Adam as I calmly rose from my seat and pulled Connor to one side near the men's room.
"What?" Con pulled his arm out of my grip.
"Are you out of your fucking mind? I just met this guy and you want to bring up our split band and then my ex?" I spoke angrily through gritted teeth, making sure nobody around could hear.
"Sorry, Brad I didn't know. I have to get back to work now." Con shook his head and tried to leave but I stood in front of him.
"Con, you haven't even spoken to me in like six months." I exhaled, trying to keep my calm in the restaurant.
"Yeah I know and you haven't exactly tried to speak to me either. I'm focused on what's important right now, and that's James." Con said, his tone slowly building as he got to the end of his sentence.
"James? It's all about fucking James, isn't it? You need to take a step back and realise that we've lost something good here. The Vamps? Remember that?" I continued.
"Brad, don't you dare. You know we made a deal with our record label to reunite on January 1st, but until then," Connor scoffed as he quickly passed his notepad to another member of staff walking by.
"And you really think that's going to happen? We're going to get back together in 3 months? You know what, I don't have time for this." I huffed as I pushed past Connor and turned the corner to return to my table.
I looked around for Adam, but I couldn't see him anywhere, maybe I'd made the wrong turn? I began to panic as he wasn't anywhere in sight, and I soon realised he must have gotten up and left.
I planted myself at the empty table before a young woman came over and placed two chocolate fudge cakes in front of me. Good going Brad, you always know how to fuck things up, I thought. I sighed and moved my plate closer to me before noticing a note from Adam.
'Hey, sorry I had to rush off. I had a good time. Call me. 079######## - Adam'
I smiled and grabbed the note, revealing thirty pounds cash underneath it. I gasped a little too loud in the restaurant, despite being pissed with Con, that had just cheered me up almost completely.
