*BRADLEY'S POV*

'Dear Diary,

Finding out that Adam isn't gay is the biggest stab in the heart for me. I thought maybe I actually liked him, and that I could have moved on with somebody else other than Tris. Instead, I feel even worse now that were 'just friends'. I should have seen it coming.'

-

"You ready?" Adam smiled as he brought the car to a stop outside the house where the party was taking place.

"As I'll ever be. Let's get drunk." I chuckled as we got out of the car and approached the door. I could hear the music roaring from outside of the house, and there were people scattered around everywhere, smoking and drinking. My heart dropped and I felt my anxiety build up inside of me, I could feel my hands shaking, I tried to hide them in my pockets but Adam soon noticed.

"Are you alright?" He asked, his hand rubbing my back to calm me down.

"Yeah, let's just get inside so I can get a drink." I exhaled, walking in front of Adam to rush indoors. Once we got inside, the place was filled with people all my age, some people even looked slightly familiar. Adam immediately started greeting everyone there and I stood awkwardly in the middle of it all, by myself looking around at all of the guests enjoying themselves.

"I'll go get us drinks. Settle in." Adam said before rushing off with friends to where the drinks were. I nodded hopelessly and sat myself down on the only empty seat in the house, next to many strangers I didn't know.

I quickly stood up as a guy beside me almost spilled his drink on me. It was only 9pm, how could you already be that much of a mess? I was already so tired of this party, despite just walking in.

I thought about how I was going to write about this disaster later on, and I knew I wasn't going to be staying long anyways.

Adam soon rushed back with two drinks in his hands, trying not to spill them as he pushed past heaps of people talking and stumbling around.

"Thank you." I exhaled and rolled my eyes, taking the drink from him.

"Yeah no problem. Uh, that guy from the cafe is over there and he's asking for you?" Adam said, looking confused as he pointed towards the garden. I froze for a moment, trying to think of all the reasons why Connor of all people would be here. I didn't want to speak to him, but also I couldn't make a scene in front of Adam, so I agreed to go and say hello, even if it was for a second. How bad could it be?

Thankfully, the garden wasn't anywhere near as hectic as the house. The people outside were chilling and making small talk, and in the corner, next to the hot tub stood Connor and James. I sighed to myself before awkwardly grinning at them from a distance. Connor frantically waved at me, and even James seemed happy to see me. Weird.

"Hey Brad!" Connor smiled, invitingly. "This is the guy I was telling you about, James."

James' attention shifted from Connor's face to Adam's for a moment, and he smiled.

"Hi, I'm Adam, nice to meet you." Adam held out his hand for him to shake, but instead James fist bumped him.

"What're you guys doing here?" I interrupted, acting like I was shocked but happy to see them. Which I wasn't. I was just shocked.

"We know Rob. Don't you?" James shrugged and continued sipping from his bottle.

"Oh, I'm just Adam's plus one. Adam knows Rob." I turned to Adam who agreed.
