"Mama!" The darker skinned boy called as he ran across the parking lot of an old hotel. This is where they had been holding up for the longest of times, walks were built up the front to keep the walkers out so they had nothing to worry about, at least that's what they believe.

Hercules spotted his mother sitting down on a truck, hand over her stomach in pain. His eyes widened instantly and he continued to run, him being just 4 years old  he was running too quick for his little feet to carry. He smacked the cement ground rather hard, pausing for a moment in shock before whaling and sobbing. Blood trickled down the curly haired boys head and into his face as he cried.

Lafayette, one of his childhood friends who was 5  raced over and scooped him up like nothing, since Lafayette was taller and stronger. "Hey, hey it's gonna be alright Hercules" the taller man cooed as the other curled up in his arms, sobbing into his chest.

"Shh mom amour" he kissed the others cheeks  to try and calm him down, taking a paper towel out of his pocket, which he carries around everywhere he went just incase he needs it. He whipped the towel gently over Hercules'  forehead trying to wipe away  the blood before it could flood the smaller boys vision.

Hercules winded his eyes as he jerked back in pain, he was scared and just wanted his mother  but something was wrong with her. Hercules' baby  brother should be born by now, instead his mother is going though excruciating pain. Lafayette cradled the boy who was still sobbing quietly, unlike before where the whole town might aswell have heard, which was one of their mistake.

Hercules leaned up and glanced over at where his mother was sitting, her crying and gripping her oversized stomach where the baby would be.

Lafayette placed a hand under Hercules' butt and scooped
up, holding him against his chest like, well like a baby. "Hercules.." Lafayette glanced around the camp towards the walls, hearing the pitiful and life changing groans and cries from the dead on the other side that banged on the walls.

"Yea Ta-"' The smaller boy was cut off by a loud painful scream from his mother, breaking his glance from Lafayette and to his mother who had blood running down the truck, covering the bottom of her messy dress.

A man rushed over and held her down from kicking and elbowing the truck or herself. Hercules watched in horror as her mother had another one of her fits, she wasn't even sure who she was or where she was, she couldn't recall who her son was or what a zombie was.

Lafayette sighed and turned away from the woman holding Hercules' head against him who was sobbing gently. "I-I don't understand" the Irish boy cried while gripping the other boys shirt, holding onto him like his life depended on it.

"Shh, I know I know" Laf shushed him and barely bent down placing him to his feet. "Look at me" Lafayette sighed, placing his hand on Hercules' shoulder as he barely tilted his head up.

"Everything's going to be okay." Lafayette reassured him quietly, and just like the gods hated Lafayette, there was a loud bang on the walls followed by those feared groans and cried from the dead ones. Hercules' eyes widened as he watched with his jaw dropped, the walkers piled in and spread out quickly, the adults tried to fight them off but most were taken down and eaten.

Lafayette screamed and scooped up Hercules ready to run out the back way until he herd the by sob out  a pathetic 'mama!'

Lafayette instantly felt a knot in his stomach from nervousness and guilt, he turned back to see the woman being eaten alive, she screamed and cried and kicked like she had been doing before. Lafayette let tears run down his cheeks and flood his vision, a dead one got close to the boy and swooped down at him groaning loudly. Hercules screamed and Lafayette sprinted towards the walls, it was a horrible idea but he was scared and didn't know what to do.

He was instantly swarmed,
Lafayette whips his tears and held Hercules tightly, he stepped onto a car and hopped over the wall, he landed on his foot wrong and twisted it letting out a pained cry. Hercules scrambled out of the taller boys arms grabbing his hand and leading him to the woods where they should be safer. The boys stopped at a decent little abandon tent set up not too far away from the old settlement.

Lafayette set down on a small log holding his ankle and biting his lip harshly to keep himself from screaming and attracting more dead ones. Hercules curled up on the ground beside Lafayette and cried into his knees, shaking violently, he just saw his mother and baby brother being eaten alive.

Lafayette torn off his shirt and wrapped the around his foot for some kind of brace. "Hercules mon ami we have I keep going, it its turning night soon.." he mumbled and reached down pulling the boy up and onto his lap. Hercules clung to the taller man sobbing pathetically into his shirt. "Hey, hey look it's ok" he smiled and rubbed small circles into the boys cheeks. "I'm gonna protect you, I'll make sure no one hurts you and nothing gets you" he cokes to the boy who was slowly calming down.

Lafayette flinched at the sudden groan behind him, he jumped up and placed his hand in the knife holder on his thigh, he gripped it and stared up at the armless walking flesh stick. He torn out the knife and sat Hercules down, reaching up and stabbing the blade into the soft skull of the taller man.

Lafayette wipes off his blade and put it back up in its holder frowning slightly. "Hercules let's move" he gripped the smaller boys hand and squeezed it, leading him on.
