"Lafayette" the boys voice rang quietly into the French boys ear, he could barley make out what he was saying tho because he was dead asleep. "Laf" Hercules sat up and began shaking hun softly "please" he cupped the older boys cheeks.Lafayette groaned softly and fluttered his eyes open, he glanced up at Hercules and frowned, he was having a nice dream about life before..this all happened and his family died.
"Oui..mon ami" he groaned and slowly sat up rubbing his curls out of his face sitting up slowly, his back ached from the hard concrete of the floor but what's new. Lafayette had suddenly forgot about his back hurting when he looked over and at his friend curled up in a ball once again, crying into his sleeves.
"Hercules?" He asked in his thick accent, only worse since he had just woken up. He instantly wrapped his arms around the boys smaller frame pulling him close to comfort him "Th-they're coming" was all the darker skinned boy was able to choke out.
Lafayette blinked and stood up, leaving Hercules in the floor, he grabbed their Thomas the train backpack and stuffed all their stuff back up, snacks, water bottles, flashlight etc.
Hercules watched in horror as groans and grunts came form the main window, hands busted and hit upon the windows along with terrifying rotten and decaying faces appeared. Lafayette gulped and stood up slinging the backpack over his shoulder "back dork" he took Hercules smaller hand and began to drag him out f the shop to the backdoor.
He took out his knife and exhaled softly, pulling the door open and holding his knife up, his heart rate speeding up as he glared around the empty street, he looked back at Hercules and nodded, he took the boys hand and began rushing out of the store, ducking it to the woods as fast as they could, Hercules was behind him since he had smaller legs.
The boys ran and ran until they found them selves at small creek deep into the woods. Hercules tumbled down into the grass and planted softly, letting out a small breathless laugh, Lafayette following the suit.
Lafayette leaned down and cupped the water, splashing it upon his face. "That was fucking crazy" he laughed and looked over at Hercules with a small smile.
"Language! Were like..7 or something" Hercules playfully pushed the boy and at up into his butt, leaning over the creek bank as well. "It's been so long- I'm not even see how old I am" the French man mumbled, running his hand along the cold water.
"Cheer up sickling, we're gonna make it" Hercules smiled and rubbed his back gently before standing up and stretching out. "But we can't stay here forever so get your French butt up and let's find a place to stay" he laughed.
Lafayette nodded and got up, taking the boys hand gently into his. Lafayette smiled and began leading the boy through the woods once again, the leafs and woods creeping and breaking under their little feet.
Hercules clung gently to the mans arms she sat there, he was able to see his breath then he blew out, it was cold as hell. Lafayette once again gave the smaller boy his jacket, despite them just surviving an attack things was looking down, the two boys couldn't survive much longer.
They walked for at least an hour until there was a large white building, Hercules pointed and smiled catching Lafayette's attention. "Non, stay here please, I'll go check it out" Lafayette turned to him and took out his knife, handing it to him carefully. Hercules frowned but nodded, taking the knife and holding it to his chest, he ducked into a bush and hid there for the time being.
Lafayette held his own knife and approached the building, realizing it was a church. He exhaled and walked up to the from, slowly pushing the door open until he could peek in. "Oui" he whispered quietly and slipped in the empty church. He crouched down and creeped across the floor careful not to alarm anyone or anything that would be hiding or living here.
He approached the back room and gently placed his hand on the door knob, turning it slightly and opening it, once he realized it was empty he exhaled happily and raced back over to the door putting his knife back.
He ran towards the woods where Hercules was hiding and paused when he could find him. He raised a brow and began checking bushes, slowly growing worried "Hercules?" He whispered.
Lafayette exhaled shakily and began to panic, tubing around the trees to find any sign of his smaller friend. It wasn't long before he had finally given up and just sat there on the ground holding back tears. Lafayette stayed like that for a while before he heard someone yell his name, he snapped his head back and snapped out his knife.
Hercules paused and looked up at his talk friend, a look of fear in his eyes as he gripped the man hand beside him that he as found.
"Mon ami!" Lafayette dropped his knife and rushed over, pulling the smaller boy into a hug up against him. Hercules blinked and let go of the mans hand, wrapping his arms around the taller boys back. "Lafayette-" "I told you to stay put, non?" Lafayette cut him off and pulled away, glaring down with an unhappy expression, wiping his tears away.
Hercules smiled and crossed his arms "Look" he posted byes up at the older bald man with a happy expression. The man bend down to be face to face with laf. "I take it you don't do well with people who mess with Hercules?" He joked and held out his hand for the French boy to take.
Lafayette hesitantly shook his hand and shrugged "let's get inside the church please?" He frowned. "My church?" The man laughed and stood up turning around on his heel and taking Hercules' small hand into his.
"Did you see my wife?" He questioned as he began to walk towards the church with Hercules. Lafayette glared and slapped the mans hand, taking Hercules' hand instead "Non" he mumbled. The man decided not to say anything about it as he walked empty handed a slight pep in his step since he was kinda worried about the French boys reply.
