He had this look on his face that was begging her to stay.C'Anne knew that she couldn't, she had a job to do. So she did the only thing that she could do. Building up her courage she floated down to him, her wings rustling with anticipation. She expected him to flinch but smirked when he didn't. Once her feet touched the ice cold ground the snow melted away and the dead grass turned a healthy green, a few flowers blossomed beneath her feet.
"You can't stay here C'Anne!" Hissed her hunting companion Leah. C'Anne ignored her as she made her way over to Ansel. "You're a silly little mutt, you know that?" She asked taking his face in her hands, she ignored the ache in her chest when she saw the hurt in his eyes. She planned to fix his heart, but she knew her kiss would scar him for over an eternity but it was all she could do to prove that she loved him. Leaning down she angled his face and brushed her lips over his. She was soft at first, but soon his hands were on her hips pulling her closer. She closed her eyes so she wouldn't have to see his face when she caused him pain. With her heart beating rapidly in her chest she let her dark sticky tendrils sink into His skin and wrap around his heart. She pulled away then, her tendrils snapping and dissolving into his flesh. She didn't try to keep her tears from falling as she watched him drop to his knees. Ansel clutched his chest and grunted in discomfort. She was shocked that he wasn't screaming from the agonizing pain. He looked up at her, his beautiful face contorted in pain. She didn't look away when he growled at her. She held her ground, gazing into his eyes. They were a deep marble brown tinged with grey, and thanks to her cursed kiss tendrils he now had flecks of blue. "Why?" Ansel grated out, he sounded disgusted. C'Anne looked away and sighed, her wings fluttered and she was gracefully lifted into the air. "Why are you leaving me?" He sounded less angry and more hurt than the first time he asked. C'Anne furrowed her brow and studied his face. He was devastated, she dropped to the ground and tucked her wings away. Without really thinking she sat on her knees beside him. "You're too young Ansel." Her voice had a sharp edge to it. C'Anne's words cut through Ansel like a blade. He didn't hide the hurt on his face, he chose to ignore the rage unfurling inside of him. Instead he ran his fingers through his hair and stood up. "When will I be old enough?" He asked turning away from C'Anne. He didn't hear her move, but she was behind him in an instant. She wrapped her arms under his and placed her hands on his chest sending floods of warmth through his veins. She was sedating him, the amount of essence she placed inside him would last him a little over 5 years. "Don't make matters worse C'Anne, the last thing I need is to hear your thoughts." His shoulders seemed to slump as he walked away from her. It was something he promised he would never do, but if he didn't leave now he knew that she would.
