It had been almost a month since I last saw Bucky, he had sent one of his friends over to apologise on his behalf, Sam, I think he said was his name. I mentioned he had to go away for a while and wasn't sure when he would be back. He didn't use the word mission, but I knew deep down it was an Avengers mission. I couldn't stop replaying that night in my head, we hadn't gotten any further then a few kisses, but it had been the most content I had felt in a very long time.I typed away on my computer, I still had an hour to go until my lunch break, sighing, as I knew the work load would soon just pile up again once I had completed this task. Sometimes I hated having to work two jobs, but the double paycheck was always a welcomes bonus during bills week. I overhead a few people gossiping about Tony Stark being back in New York City, I didn't want to get involved in their gossip session, but eavesdropped incase they mentions Bucky,
'My Husband said he heard on the news that Stark is back again in New York City.. he has been missing for weeks apparently'
'Man I always thought he was a womaniser, but apparently he is dating the Captain'
'They always seem to be adding new members to the Avengers team, Did you all see the latest recruit?'
'The Winter soldier.... I wouldn't be trusting him, not after hearing about his history with the enemy '
I rolled my eyes at hearing these woman gossiping about the people they would more than likely never even meet. I felt myself smile at the mention of the Winter Soldier knowing it was Bucky. My hand quickly brushing past my soulmate tattoo as I continued typing up the document for my manager.

Reaching up to turn the computer screen off I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket, quickly taking it out to see who the message was from.
'You have a visitor here waiting for you,, I covered your shift, but they are here waiting for you, Alex XX '
I sighed realising it would mean I probably wouldn't make enough money this week for rent, but that feeling of dread was soon taken over by excitement as I secretly hoped it was Bucky waiting for me at the bar. I wondered why he hadn't just headed over to my apartment, but as I entered the bar I saw a familiar blonde sitting in one of the booths. I made eye contact with Alex before heading over to greet the man.
'Steve' I said, sliding into the booth, sitting opposite him.
'Hi Ally' he greeted me warmly thought I could sense he was sort of nervous at our impromptu meeting on his behalf.
I took a deep breathe, starting to dread what he might say, but quickly plucked up enough courage to ask, 'Where is he?'
Steve looked down for a moment clearly not wanting to make eye contact. 'Ally he went out on a mission... He went through a lot....' ,Steve paused for a moment, looking down at the table unsure how to continue.
Ally took a deep breathe starting to assume the worse, ' was he killed?' She asked surprising herself at how blunt she was being.
Steve turned his face straight away to make eye contact with her. ' He wasn't killed, but to be honest this is worse for Bucky'
Ally's mind started running through all the possibilities of what could have happened, when her mind flashed the word Hydra to her. Although Bucky was yet to open up to her about that part of his life, he had reminisced about his life in the 1940s with Steve in Brooklyn. Ally loved hearing those stories but now wished she knew a little more about Hydra and what they had done to him.
'It was Hydra wasn't it?' She asked, already knowing the answer, Steve sighed nodded, confirming her thoughts.
' Where is he now?' She asked, feeling herself wanting to be close to her soulmate. ' I have to see him!' She exclaimed staring at Steve, her bag already being thrown over her shoulder.
' Ally I'm not sure that's a good idea' Steve said gently, sitting forward, whispering the next part, ' they've messed up his mind again, he isn't the Bucky you know at the moment, he has become the Winter Soldier again'
Ally gasped as tears started forming in her eyes she looked away focusing on the ground for a few minutes. Before taking a deep breathe and making eye contact with Steve, ' I want to see him Steve, please it's been nearly a month'
Steve sighed knowing how Ally was feeling, once you had met your soulmate being away from them for long periods of time could take a toll on the individuals. ' okay but he isn't at the tower'
Ally frowned, ' where is he then?'
' I'll take you there, but it's still sort of top secret for now' Steve whispered.
Ally nodded, standing up from the booth, ' come on then we are going now' she said stepping out of the booth. She knew she was being pushy with the man who was keeping her informed but she needed to see Bucky, she knew soulmates could be a comfort to each other.
They left the bar quickly with Steve throwing down some cash on the table, before leading Ally down the streets of New York to Stark Tower, both of them walking in silence, though Ally felt everyone around her could hear her heart beating against her rib cage.
' I thought you said he wasn't here' she said as Steve swiped his access card to Stark Tower.
' he isn't here, but you'll have to get clearance before I can take you out there' he said, guiding her into the elevator and pressing the button for the top floor.
Ally sighed, getting frustrated at all of the processes it was taking to be able to see Bucky again. She was about to speak up when the doors opened, giving her a prime view of the open living room, where a few of the Avengers were sitting around in deep discussion.
She stepped forward alongside Steve, trying to avoid making a sound, when suddenly he clear his throat and everyone at once turned face him.
'Why is our bar server standing in front of me Steve?' Tony jumped up, walking toward the two who had just entered the room.
' she's his soulmate Tony' Steve spoke up and Ally swore the silence in the room was deafening as they all turned to stare at her.
