The clock read 3:00, which meant you get of of work now. With butterflies in your stomach you picked up your purse, said your goodbyes and headed home to the apartment you and Evan shared. Tonight was date night, and Evan said tonight was going to be one to remember. You smiled at the thought of it. As you pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex, you took a deep breath and entered your apartment.
“Evan, I’m home!” You yell hoping for Evan’s reply.
But there was no reply. You walk into your bedroom to find a note. It read:
“Y/n,
I have a special night planned for us. Just follow the rose petals and I’ll see you soon!
love, Evan”
You folded it up and put it in your purse. On the floor you find a trail rose petals from the bed to the closet.
“He did not!” you say aloud.
but he did. he bought you really expensive looking gold dress and a pair of black heels. You quickly changed, then proceeded to follow the other petals. throughout the house you found a diamond necklace, some earrings and a bracelet you’d wanted forever. The rose petals leaded into the parking lot where a limo was waiting. As you climb inside you hear a familiar voice. “Hey babe.” Evan says with the cutest smile on his face.
As soon as you get in the limo you pull him into a hug and kiss him everywhere.
“Evan I’m honestly speechless. You didn’t need to do all this!” you said as your face glow with happiness.
“Yes I did. Because I like to make my girl happy. See look at that smile.” he pecked your cheek and you blushed. You pulled up to a very fancy, very expensive looking restaurant. You walked in with Evan hand in hand.
“Reservations for 2 for Peters.” Evan told the hostess. She led you to your table and just as you sit down, the lights go out. You feel around for Evans hand but there’s just empty space. You start to get scared when you find he’s not on either side of you. The lights come back on after a couple seconds and Evan is on one knee with a beautiful ring in a velvet box. You start to cry as Evan proposes. “Y/n we’ve been together for 5 years now and from the start I knew you were the person I wanted to spend my life with. You’re so smart, so beautiful and you have a kind heart. Even as kids playing tag in your backyard, even as high schoolers walking the halls, I saw the amazing person you are. So y/f/n, will you marry me?”
“Yes, yes, yes! A million times yes!”
He slides the ring onto your finger and kisses you hard. People in the restaurant clap and you and Evan giggle. “I love you.” Evan says as he kisses your forehead.
“I love you too fiancé”
