On The Loose, Chapter 3: Don't Worry, I Got You

The moon is really bright and beautiful tonight, but the wind is quite harsh; nonetheless, the feeling of the air is quite refreshing. Her black hair being blown by the wind as she rode to a place only her associates would know of. When she reached her destination; she was immediately greeted by the smell of garbage that was presumed to be a useful layer to hide the entrance of an old and ruined building, which was probably a survivor of thousand catastrophes, or maybe during the war.

The building was actually a bit too big and wide for a hideout, but its dirty and creepy demeanor made anyone think that they shouldn't enter or go anywhere near its vicinity. Sure, it was dirty on the outside and at some parts inside, but it was being taken care of.

She strode in the hallway, reminiscing her memories as she looked around. It has been a while since she's been here. But her mouth almost immediately went dry and felt a little bitter when she walked past a certain room and finally reaching the crimson-colored door by the end of the hall. Letting out a deep breath, she opened the crimsoned door and was greeted by a colleague and two unfamiliar persons inside; minding their own business. One person is drinking from a bottle of rum, and the other person—or more like a young boy is standing at the corner of the room, with an eyepatch over his left eye. He gave a piercing look, like a person who's ready to kill someone.

"Here she is, finally!" A smooth and silky voice beamed.

"And now we shall start the business we came here for." The man with the bottle of rum said; his voice a bit too thin and young for him, and his accent a bit too strong for Korean. A foreigner.

"Let's get straight to the point—you, my lady, have been assigned to look after this kid." The thin-voiced man announced and gave a document file to the lady, "You will be meeting her parents soon, and they will tell you what you will be doing regarding the safety of the kidtheir one and only child. Understood?" The black haired lady bit her lip out of nervousness. Nodding, she asked, "Is this all of it?"

"Yes. Don't worry, I have the same assignment as yours so we are going to be in the same sectors and will be seeing each other very often." He answered. "There must be a reason why you—a trainee had been assigned to this kind of task. And I'm afraid that you might soon see some uncomfortable events along your journey."

"Ooh~! Good luck, mute." The smooth-voiced guy teased with a smirk.

"Anyways, those girls I am to look after are the children of an associate of ours who is now trying to infiltrate the other party. If he makes it out alive, we would be very lucky, and our wallets will be filled with paychecks." He explained.

"Ah yes! Of course. And soon we will be going to bars, late at night to celebrate our success!" Smooth voice cheered.

"IF the operation is a success, although." Eyepatch said flatly, making the smooth-voiced man roar in laughter. "No, boy. It's a 'when' not an 'if'."

"I know that it's your first time going undercover, but you do know how to act during such circumstances, right? You're a silent one, so I can't really tell." Eyepatch asked the lady.

"She is the best in their department, that's why she's here with us, despite being a greenhorn." Smooth-voiced bragged.

"Yes..." the lady replied, albeit a bit too confused because everything was happening so fast; she can't cope up.

"Good, now—how are things going on the side of the organization?" A thin-voice guy asked.

"Please do tell. I'm curious because our side—the FBI has been very...peculiar lately...—but actually, you know what? Before that," sweet-voiced-guy halted, "We should get to know each other first—damn, it's too late for that though! I'm Kim Seokjin, from the Criminal Investigative Division, I think you know me already? I was your senior back when we were trainees if I remember correctly. And there's no way I will forget the girl with the mole on her face!"
