Kartik reached exactly at 6:30 pm with her assignment but hid behind a tree..... He could see naira clearly from the place he was standing.....
Now it was 6:45.....
Naira was getting frustrated and impatient..... She then took out the chit he gave from her sling bag and called him...... His phone was already at silent..... He just smiled and saved her no. (smart huh 😎)
She kept calling him but he didn't pic any of her calls....
Now it was around 7:15 pm and it was getting dark..... He than ran towards her showing as if he was very tired.....
Kartik - I am sorry naira.... Actually my bikes tire got punctured and it took time to replace the tire.....
Naira just snatched her record and started going..... But Kartik came in front....
Kartik - heyy.... I can drop you home... anyway its too dark.... And it's not safe to go alone.....
He spoke with concern in his voice but she angrily replied back....
Naira (angry) - I don't need your help.... Do you understand that.... Stay away from me....
Before he could say anything.... Naira stopped an auto and got into it.......
But Kartik was following her on his bike..... Being concerned about her safety......
Naira stopped the auto and walked towards him....
Naira (sternly) - why are you following me??
Kartik - look.... You got late because of me.... And I can't take your safety for granted..... Either you come and sit with me or I'll follow you to see if you reached safely.....
Naira just blankly looked at him....
She paid the auto driver and sat behind him without touching him....
Kartik smiled....
She just blankly kept giving directions to him and they stopped before a girls hostel.....
Kartik (confused) - you live here??
Naira didn't reply back and just got down and went to her hostel.....
Kartik - making her my friend is surely gonna be very difficult....
He went back home..... Kartik was a type of person who used to share everything with his family specially his mom....... He told everything about naira to her.....
Kartik (after telling everything) - mom I really don't understand why does she always behave soo rudely...
Suvarna - son.... Maybe because she is home sick...... And it might be that she doesn't like the hostel food.....
Kartik - but mom then she could just go and visit her family for some days.... Since the College has started she hasn't even taken 1 day of leave....
Suvarna - hmm.... Maybe her parents are too busy..... I'll do a thing I'll pack an extra lunch box for her..... Maybe her mood would enlighten....
Kartik - thanks mom....
The next day Kartik got an extra tiffin for naira.....
He went to her bench.....
Kartik - heyy naira.... I got this for you.... (he showed her the tiffin box)....
Naira (sternly) - I don't want it....
Kartik - I'm keeping it here and will take it back at the end of the day....
Saying that Kartik left.....
At the end of the day he saw that the tiffin was untouched..... He felt sad seeing this....
He went back home and again told his mom everything....
Suvarna - no problem Kartik.... It might be that she didn't like the food....
Kartik - but Mom she didn't even touch it....
Suvarna - it's alright son.... Don't worry I'll make an extra tiffin for her everyday..... Maybe 1 day she eats it.....
Kartik just nodded.....
The next day he went to the staff room.... He had some work with the teacher..... Then he saw on the attendance register that naira's birthday was the next day..... He thought to give her a gift......
On the next day(her birthday)
He kept a gift on her desk....
Naira came there and got shocked to see a gift kept there....
Kartik came from behind and wished her.....
Kartik (smiling) - happy birthday naira.....
Naira got angry and she threw the gift away (ik it's rude)
Naira (angry) - I don't want any gift from you do you understand..... Just stop bothering me....
She then went from there.....
Kartik felt insulted but still continued with his daily routine.... Which was getting an extra tiffin for her....
Kartik's pov...
One day after almost 1 week i saw the tiffin empty and got shocked as well as happy..... I looked towards naira and she smiled....... My world completely stopped...... She smiled for the first time...... Her smile is really the most beautiful smile I have ever seen......
She said
Naira (smiling) - thank you.... The food was really very nice....
