"This is so stupid," Austin grumbles as they pack into the crowded bleachers.
"You said you'd come," Sabrina reminds him, throwing in a glare for good measure.
He gives her a look and mumbles under his breath, "never said I wouldn't complain."
"Look!" Sabrina points excitedly to the football field, "there's Nick."
"Yep," Austin nods.
"Where's Elizabeth?" Adrianna asks, unsuccessfully trying to block the blinding sunlight from her eyes.
"Concession stand," he replies immediately, not even looking up from his phone.
"Fuck he's so hot in his football uniform," Sabrina says.
"You thirsty, or nah?" Adrianna giggles.
"Go fuck yourself," Sabrina says.
"I have a boyfriend, so that's not necessary," Adrianna sticks her tongue out.
"God only knows where that tongue has been," Austin mutters.
"Bitch," Adrianna reaches behind Sabrina to smack the back of his head.
"Sabrina, your pretzel, Adrianna your chips," Elizabeth returns, handing out the food, "water for me, and nothing for Austin."
"I hate you," he sighs.
"You love me," she smiles.
"Shut up, I think it's about to start," Sabrina tries to lean around her friend.
"Sit down I can't see the boys!" Adrianna swats at Elizabeth.
"Sit-"
"Here," Austin bumps Sabrina over and makes room. Elizabeth squeezes in between him and a girl she's seen in the halls. A few girls behind them giggle.
"What was that?" Austin whispers to Elizabeth.
"Don't ask me," she shrugs.
"They think you're together be quiet," Sabrina waves them off.
"What? Why?" Austin asks.
"Ew," Elizabeth mutters.
"Wow thank you for boosting my self esteem," Austin turns to give her a look.
"Anytime," she grins.
"I'm telling your mom you're being mean to me," he teases.
"Not if I tell yours first," she argues.
"Shut up," he says.
"Make me," she rolls her eyes.
"The sexual tension is so real," Sabrina whispers to Adrianna. Austin and Elizabeth glare at them.
"Literally get married," Adrianna adds.
"Do you guys wanna like step into the bathroom I mean," Sabrina laughs, "I have condoms in my car."
"Oh my God," Elizabeth mumbles, turning back to the football game.
"We're just kidding," Adrianna laughs, "but you know at least 75% of the school thinks you're legit together."
"Is that why Alyssa gave me a dirty look when I asked her out?" Austin asks, bewildered.
"Probably," Adrianna shrugs. Elizabeth opens her water and takes a sip.
"Why?" she asks. Austin takes the bottle from her and gulps some down.
"That's why," Sabrina laughs.
"You drink right after each other. Doesn't the fact that your spit is in each others mouths bother you?" Adrianna wonders.
"Probably not the first time they've swapped spit," Sabrina mumbles. She and Adrianna burst into laughter.
"You guys are nasty," Austin chuckles.
"So are you guys like... a thing?" Adrianna asks between gasps for breath.
"No! No we are not a thing, we are two close friends who've known each other for a long time. That's it," he says. Adrianna shrugs and they go back to the football game.
Super short. Sorry! Who ships Austibeth already?
