My name is Makami am the kings fourth wife I am a mother of three sons. Unfortunately am the kings favourite and as per tradition I bore him a son as the first child hence a he's the crown prince though he has older brothers. My tribe is Sijanya  it has the highest number of seers though we are termed witches due to our gifts we do not condone black magic and one practising it is burn alive in their homestead. I am a seer but I have learnt to hide my gift as a queen since my punishment would be worse .

I met my husband on a market day, we are farmers while they are hunters and gatherers. When we traded, he called me beautiful and that's how unmarried young girls would get married. He knew of my tribe and its cultures but he still fell in love with me. Famie is the first wife she has 3daughers that paved from her womb first, similarly to all the other women married to the king.

I am now pregnant with my fourth child I know its a girl and the gods have shown me her future. No mother would love for her child to suffer. Especially when she can avoid it. I can kill this child to end her misery but she's supposed to be her fathers strength although the future is tough she has to be trained for it. I am supposed to die in the arms of her love and she is supposed to follow tradition that says a sword to the heart of a murderer. If I decide to play fate then my husband and his legacy will perish.

I feel pains in the lower part of my abdomen I think she's ready to meet the world but am I ? Am exhausted from the visions I see and my agony lies on my child.

"Push queen !makami push! You will kill the prince , push child push!" The midwife yelled at me taking me away from my thoughts.

"This time its a princess you'll see and she's stronger than I am, am too tired but she wants to come to this world no matter what." I said to the midwife who was dazzled at my speech.

"Well then queen makami lets not keep Nyati at bay he wants to welcome the child and you know your womb is blessed child so push!" The midwife said to me, she knows because she's my mother.

After time of struggle and pain I had the voice of a child, her screams were commanding while her wails informative.

"You have a daughter Nyati and she will be stronger than all the sons combined" my mother told my husband.

"She shall be named after her grandmother Nayeka and after our love Kipenzi, she is the only child I have named contrary to tradition because she will be my love after her mother and my warrior after my legacy"  the king blessed his daughter in joy and love.

I truly hope that the ancestors will let her understand that her "foreign pot "is the only pot that will compete her.
