Chapter Four - Tessa Paul?

-----------------------------------------------------I woke up suddenly and realised the time; 11:20. Just then I heard a noise coming from the kitchen. "Uh! Hey sleepy head. I'm gonna- Uh, I mean try to make some pancakes. Want some?" It was Jake. He came into the bedroom and smiled sweetly. I nodded, struggling to find words. What happened? Why was he so happy?, I thought. I heard a lot of noises coming from in the kitchen such as pots and pans dropping onto the floor, creating a sudden echoing sound. I quickly stopped day dreaming and got changed into some navy blue ripped jeans and a small grey top. I also wore a golden chain necklace which I found under my bed. Just then I heard him coming back into the bedroom. He opened his mouth and then said something different to what he wanted to say, "Wow. You got dressed quick.." He shook his head to stop him from staring, "Oh yeah! Once we've had pancakes, I was thinking maybe we could go out somewhere—"
"Yes," I ran over to him in my grey heels and kissed him, "Of course." We both smiled at each other for what seemed like hours. Once our pancakes were ready, we ate them as quick as we could and planned out our day. "So, like. I have a meeting at 1:45pm so maybe you can come and wait somewhere." I explained, as Jake took out his phone and slowly scrolled down on his Instagram feed. "Yeah okay how long is the meeting?" He asked, putting his phone away and eating the last bite of his pancake. "Well, like half an hour but we have a lunch break which is like twenty minutes so it's kinda less that half an hour." I said, staring into his deep blue eyes. He nodded and took both our empty plates into the kitchen. Then, we both walked out of my apartment door and headed to The Grove.

"Huh," Jake laughed as we both sat down on a two-seated table outside a Café at The Grove. "Remember the last time we came here?" We both instantly started laughing. Then a woman with dark brown hair and incredibly identical winged eyes came over to our table. "Hey welcome! I'm Kath, would you like anything?" She smiled brightly but I could tell deep inside she hated her job. Jake and I looked at each other. "Well, I'm not really hungry but I'll take a coffee, please" I smiled back as she quickly scribbled down a few notes on her notepad. She turned to Jake. "Oh I'll take the same." Then he stopped and winked at me, "But I'll pay." I rolled me eyes and laughed as the waitress nodded and laughed herself. "Okay! Thank you. Your orders will be done soon" Then she kind of jogged away. Silence hung in the air but then Jake stopped the awkwardness by pointing behind me and frowning. I turned around to see what made me feel even more awkward and embarrassed then the silence that kept happening between me and Jake. There stood, was Tessa Brooks and Logan Paul... Kissing.
