Chapter 5 Come on in

After Raditz had finished persuading Vegeta to come, he now found it necessary to find his sister right away, "I have to get on good terms with her if I ever want to make her come with us."

Raditz pressed the side of his scouter trying to locate Kaka.

Her power level was fluctuating high, she was obviously upset about something but at least she was remaining in one spot. Raditz knew he was going to have to play it cool with her. This was exactly the opportunity he needed to gain her trust.

/Goku's house/

Goku had flown in through the window to her bed room, she couldn't see through her tears anymore. All this pent up anger and sadness was finally coming loose. She had been forced from her home where she had lived with her grandpa and after that, it was like all her freedom had been taken away.

Bulma had adopted her and was now her prison guard.

"I need to be free! I need to face new challenges and push myself to my limits!" Goku yelled to the ceiling. She then fell to the floor with the wooden boards cool under her and catching her tears when they fell.

"You are right, all saiyans need to be free."

Goku turned startled to the voice. Raditz was hanging outside, hovering by her window.

"Raditz?" Goku questioned hastily, quickly rubbing away the tears.

Raditz watched his sister on the ground, she was acting pathetic, if Vegeta saw her like this he wouldn't hesitate to dismiss her. Dismiss as in kill.

Raditz stepped through the small window, made difficult by his huge hair and enormous height. "Kaka, this is not healthy for you, you are a saiyan."

"A, a what?" Goku asked sniffing.

"You are a saiyan from the planet Vegeta."

Raditz watched Goku's confused eyes still staring at him. Sighing he explained further, "You are not an earthling, that's why you have desires and pleasures they don't. They are holding you back Kaka."

Raditz walked over and knelt down to Goku's level on the floor.

"No they don't, my friends make me stronger! They don't hold me back," Goku glared.

Raditz sensed he was crossing a line into dangerous territory. No matter how revolting it was, he had to keep on the act of being a good guy.

"Of course they try to help you Kaka," Raditz said and even daring to place a hand on his sister's back.

"My name is Goku..." Goku mumbled.

Raditz ignored her refusal to use her birth name and continued, "It's the way they help. They don't understand the need to fight and do battle. That's what a saiyan's nature is all about. The thrill of the fight. Humans can't understand that. They don't know you need to be free and go where your heart takes you."

"Really?" Goku asked innocently. She looked up to Raditz with big and sad eyes, she was vulnerable, this was his chance.

"Yes, and now Kaka, I have a favor to ask of you," Raditz said suddenly turning serious.

Goku immediately came to attention to her apparent brother. That tone always meant danger was the immediate subject to come.

"Many years ago, planet Vegeta was destroyed by an asteroid. It wiped out all the saiyans, besides myself, our prince, and a first class soldier named Nappa. We only survived because we were out on a mission for the evil tyrant named Freeza," Raditz paused after this. He wanted to make sure Kaka understood every word.

"That's awful," Goku said with genuine sorrow. Raditz saw the pity in her eyes, making him turn away. He didn't feel bad or, dare say, guilty for the lies he was about to thread.

"This tyrant Freeza, or Lord Freeza, has been dictating our lives ever since. He uses us, and he forces us to do missions. We have no freedom."

"Slavery?" Goku asked quietly, she didn't want to interrupt but she felt a pause from Raditz.

"In a way, but we are tired of being kept as the evil tyrant's minions. Please, Kaka, it is the only reason we came here. Please come with us to defeat Freeza."

Goku watched Raditz as he finished and finally came out with what he wanted. Him and his friends were stuck with even less freedom than she had. Empathy rolled off her in waves but soon reality struck her.

"How am I to trust you though? I don't even know if you are actually my brother."

Raditz mentally growled, he felt so close to convincing her but he did predict this would happen.

"Right now, Prince Vegeta is heading to Earth. He should be here in a day or so. We are literally risking our lives to try to get you to help us. We can't live like this anymore, Freeza has made us do terrible things..." Raditz sighed, "Very, very terrible."

Goku wanted to ask what but didn't as she saw Raditz go completely crestfallen before her eyes.

"I, I will think about it," Goku said, suddenly filled with nervousness.
