Chapter 3

I woke up and my neck was killing me. I looked around and the walls were familiar. I was in my room. I tried to move but it sent pain through my body. “Stay still Tala, you will be sore for some time.” I looked and Colton was standing not far from me.

“What” I stopped shocked how hoarse my voice was. “What are you doing in my room?” I whispered.

“I wanted to make sure you were okay.” He looked away. “I didn’t mean to bite you that hard.” He hadn’t really said he was sorry.

My phone buzzed and I reached for it but Colton beat me to it. He arched a brow and looked at me. “Who is Syd?”

“My best friend.” Colton answered it.

“Hello.” Pause. “This is Colton.” Long pause. “No.” Pause. “She is indisposed at the moment.” Pause. “She is…” he looked at me unsure. I shrugged my shoulders and hated myself after. My body hurt. “…in the shower.” Very long pause. “Okay. Bye.” He hung up. “This Syd is very loud.” I smiled. I had the same though the first time I met Syd, but she grew on me.

He put my phone back and looked at me. “Does it hurt?” I nodded my head. His silver eyes wavered and he actually looked sad. Colton came over and he sat on the edge of my bed. “I…I didn’t mean to be so rough.” Colton grabbed my hand. It was so warm. It actually kind of made my body tingle but I ignored it and tried to concentrate on Colton. “You are my mate and I never meant to harm you so.”

I gave him a small smile. I think that was the most of an apology I was going to get.

“Why did you mount me?” A devilish grin spread over his lips.

“Because I finally found my mate and my instincts said to claim you.” His instinct told him to try and take my virginity.

“You could say you’re sorry.”

He looked at me like I was crazy. “Why would I do that?”

I couldn’t believe him. He bit me, then tried to take me and he’s not even going to apologize. “Because you did two bad things in the matter of a minute.”

“Alpha never apologizes” he growled. “Besides you are mine, I am allowed to do with you what I wish.” I gaped at him. Did he really just say that? To him I’m just a little play thing he can do whatever with. Well I don’t think so.

The door opened and Highest Alpha came in. “Colton did you wake her? You must let her rest.” He came over to me and I looked up at him as much as I could. “I am terribly sorry little Tala.” He apologizes. “Colton go get in the car, your mother is waiting for you. We are leaving after I talk with Tala.” Colton growled and looked at his father. “She shall be fine. Now go.”

Colton gave my hand a little squeeze and then said “I will be back soon.” Then he let go and the heat faded.

Even though I was pissed he wouldn’t apologize I couldn’t help the loss I felt when he started leaving. I whined and even in all my pain I turned my head. Colton looked at me and his silver eyes were longing but he left.

I looked back at Highest Alpha and my body screamed at me for moving. “I really am sorry Tala. I did not mean to ruin your birthday.” Honestly this was maybe the most exciting and painful birthday I have ever had. “I hope you feel better soon. We will be returning soon. I know it will be hard to be separated from Colton but I do not think we will be away long.”

I nodded my head and my neck throbbed. My body screamed at me. It was yelling at me asking why I couldn’t get it through my head that I needed to lye still. “Rest. You will feel better once you rest. Goodbye little Tala.”
