"Archiekins. How's the High School Musical stuff going?" Veronica asked the man. High School Musical? Does this guy do theater while playing football? That does sound like Troy Bolton to me. "Great actually, so far so good and I see you guys brought a friend with you?" "I'm Y/N L/N. Nice to meet you." I shook his hands and he introduced himself as Archie Andrews. Not gonna lie he's kind and now I have erased the thought of him being Reggie's minion. I mean you can't blame me. I assumed I was on the verge of dumpster diving today. After the introduction the two of us had, a man wearing a beanie took a sit in the spot we were in. Our sitting arrangements are as follows: Me, Veronica, Betty and on the opposite were Kevin, Archie and the guy who just came. He was wearing a black leather jacket and he had his plaid shirt tied to his waist. He must be very cold to wear a beanie. You thought. "So care to introduce your friend here?" he asked. "Gladly. Jughead meet Y/N. Y/N meet Jughead our resident emo." You greeted him after the introduction Kevin made. You found it really word to be saying it's nice to meet you in one day.

You were eating when suddenly you felt quite uncomfortable due to the fact that someone is yet again staring at you. You took a glimpse just to see who it was and was astound to catch the culprit. It's surprisingly the resident emo of the group you are joining. You pretended not to see anything considering you might appear delusional if you call him out and just continued eating. "So have you guys heard any news related to Jason?" Archie asked. "Not really. My dad hasn't been talking much about it." To my surprise I accidentally said "Wait, your dad's a cop? That's cool." They all looked at me and giggled. "What?" curious as to why they found my reaction amusing. "Well, I guess you could say it has its own perks since I get to know some things which other people will find out later on." Kevin broke the awkwardness from my previous statement. He seems to be pretty reliable on times where I am soon to embarrass myself. The bell rang and all of you got up from your respective chairs.

You wished that the second half of your first day would be better the first. Heading to your next class, you saw a familiar man sitting at the back with luckily a free sit. You were trying to approach where he was to make sure you at least sit next to a person you know. That is until Reggie decided to stand in front of you, stopping you on your track. "What do you want?" you got a lot of ooh's with what you said and the man in front of you just scoffed. He was about to say something but was interrupted "Y/N, I saved a sit for you." Much to your surprise you just walked by Reggie and saw that he had and annoyed look plastered on his face. You took a sit then looked to the person next to me. "Can you not look at me like that? You're creeping me out." I smiled. "Thank you Jughead." I just realized that my circle of friends grew in an instant much faster than I expected.

The teacher unfortunately had a meeting so he decided that we can have a free period. I didn't know what to do so I turned to see if my seatmate was up for a chat. It was a bold choice for me to talk to someone since he's a stranger. He did save me from the football captain but that doesn't change the fact that he's an unknown individual. "I actually heard what you said to him during lunch break. Why didn't you just fight back earlier?" Jughead asked while looking at the floor. "Well, I can't just pick a fight whenever I want. Besides this is my first day in school. I wouldn't want to give my mom a headache especially not when we're new here." Having to move here and cause trouble for my mom is the least thing I'd like to do on my list. Having only me and her here is tough enough so I wouldn't want to make it more difficult for her. "Well do you have any plans after class?" To say that I am surprised is an understatement. I smirked and asked him if he's asking me out. It's a joke of course. "What? I was being polite okay? I think you had a tough day that's why I'm being the kindest person I can be at the moment. I usually don't offer it to anyone most of the time so consider yourself lucky." I found his defense cute. He seems cold outside but I think that was just the common mistake in first impressions. "Fair enough, well actually, my mom is going to pick me up so I'll have to pass." It would be great to hang out with my new friends but I don't think I'm in the position to go with them yet or to even call them my friends. After all we just met.

The bell rang signaling the end of school for the day. Apart from the football captain incident, everything was okay. My day went normally just like how it was in my old school. While waiting for my mom, a car appeared in front of me. God not him again. He's like a fruit fly seriously. "Hey hot stuff. Need a ride?" normally I would thank the person for the offer but this guy doesn't count. "No thanks Reggie Mantle Football Captain." He just told me whatever and drove off. Make good choices. I thought to myself. Suddenly my phone buzzed and as I opened the message my face turned sour.

"Hi Sweetie, unfortunately something came up at work. The staff threw a welcoming party for me so I can't pick you up. I'm really sorry. You can do something fun for tonight since I won't be home till midnight. I'll make it up to you next time. Love you"

I guess I'll be going home alone and having dinner by myself too. I was walking when I saw Archie, Veronica and Betty walking together. "Y/N!" Veronica called so I walked towards where they were. "Hey guys. I didn't know you two were cheerleaders." They both giggled and asked me what my plans were for later. "Well, my mom was supposed to pick me up but she was caught up with some things at work so I guess I'll go home now." "Well that sounds terrible. Why don't you hang out with us? We're on our way to somewhere anyway. What do you say?" Archie offered. To tell you the truth, I don't think it would be too bad if I have fun and my mom's gonna ask me if I made new friends anyway so why not. I accepted the offer then we went our way to this somewhere.

You were met with a very familiar sign. To say you didn't think of this place when Archie said somewhere would be a complete lie. Once the four of you entered the diner, Archie and Veronica made their way to a booth. "Shouldn't we follow them?" I asked Betty while we were placing an order. She told me that it was okay since they are in their usual spot. I have already figured that it was going to be like this since I saw the majority of customers last night were teenagers. While heading to their usual spot you could see a beanie peeking through. You had a flashback of what you asked Jughead earlier and thought of how an idiot you must be. He was on his laptop typing with an intense amount of concentration. Betty sat next to him while I sat next to Archie and Veronica with Archie in the middle. I was taking a sip of my milkshake when he looked up and said "Oh hey Princess." I choked on what I was drinking and the other people we're with were just as shocked as I was. "What?" he said while continuously typing. "Where did that come from you two?" The look Betty had on her face was enough for me to understand that she was asking for details and of course expounded ones. I told her it was nothing because it really was nothing. I think this cyberdude Jughead was just teasing me for what happened earlier.

"So how was your first day?" Veronica asked me. Everything went well except for some inevitable encounters with the kings of the hierarchy. I actually pictured Veronica to be the queen bee of this school but I was wrong. I consider myself lucky compared to Veronica when it was her first day. Apparently she got maple syruped on. That for me is personally awful and uncalled for. They explained what happened and told me more about Jason Blossom's death. They also told me that Betty's sister used to date Jason and is pregnant with his child. Also, the devil incarnate Cheryl hates every fiber of Betty's family. She apparently is the queen bee of Riverdale high. After exchanging numbers we all decided to go home. Maybe Riverdale isn't so bad after all.
