Harper's POV
We pulled up to school and got out of the truck. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Just being near him made me nervous. As we started to walk to the entrance of the school, I heard him call my name, "Harper!"
I turned and walked over to him, "Yeah?"
"You going to the county fair Friday night?"
"I was planning to. Why?"
"I'll see you there then." He gave me a wink and a smile and my heart started beating feverishly in my chest. "Let Cass know I'll pick you both up right after school."
"O-okay." He smiled as he pulled out and drove off.
What just happened?

Dalton's POVAs I drove back I couldn't help but chuckled at her stuttering. She was nervous. Watching her climb into the truck not realizing I wasn't Sawyer and seeing the look on her face was incredible. Sawyer usually drives the girls to school but I decided to do it today.
When I offered, everyone looked at me strangely. I know, it was out of character for me but I wanted to. After last night, I just wanted to see her face. To see those big brown eyes again. I drove back home thinking about this morning and last night. To see Christy after what she had done infuriated me. That was the only good thing about being on the road is I didn't have to see her.
I pulled into the drive up towards the back and got out. Sawyer was leaning on the fence when I walked up.
"Well?"
"She's going to the county fair," I said to him.
"Yeah, so?"
"So, that means she'll get to see me ride plus there is dancing." I smiled.
Sawyer let out a chuckle, "you never cease to amaze me. You just got out of a relationship with miss hoity toity and now you're wanting to get into another one?"
"Well, first off, I didn't get out of a relationship. That has been dead and gone for months and second of all, who says I'm going to get into another one," I said to him.
He gave me a look, "what?"
"Dalton, don't mess around with Harper. She's a nice girl. If you want someone easy then go after Andrea but leave Harper alone."
"You sound like you like her?"
He looked at me and sighed, "she's a nice girl. Trust me." With that he walked away. What has gotten into him?
"You know son, I get you're upset but he's right." I turned to see dad standing there putting on his leather gloves. "Harper isn't a girl you play with. She's the type that falls hard."
"Pa, I just want to get to know her."
"Uh huh. Piece of advice? Be careful. I didn't raise you boys to play around with a girl and break their heart. Plus, if your mom finds out, then you'll deal with her. Think about it." He said as he walked by me.
I stood there. He was right. This wasn't me. Even on the road I didn't mess around with girls. I stayed faithful and look where it got me. A whole lot of heartbreak.
