Harper's POV

We had the last baby which was a boy who we named Grayson Dalton. Our family was now complete. We couldn't be happier.

Christy was committed to a psych ward because of delusional paranoia. She had some weird obsession with Dalton. I was just glad she was out of our lives. It took a lot to get here.

I just wanted peace.

I finished dinner then yelled out the back door, "dinner!"

As I placed everything on the table, the kids ran past me as Dalton walked in. He wrapped his arms around me.

"Mmm smells delicious," he said as I set down a pot of beef stew.

"Well, go get cleaned up and wrangle the kids so we can eat," I ordered him.

"Yes ma'am," he smiled as he gave me a kiss.

"Kids! Wash up before your momma has my hide!" I heard him yell as I chuckled.

"Okay daddy!" The three of them yelled.

I shook my head as I set a bread basket down.

We all sat down at the table, said grace then dug in. We all ate as the kids talked.

"After supper, how about going for a ride," Dalton suggested causing the kids to cheer.

"How about after dessert," I asked, making them cheer even more.

He gave me a look, "that was a dirty trick."

"Yeah but a sweet one," I grinned as he chuckled.

We finished our supper then had pie. Afterwards, we cleaned up and Dalton went out to the stables to get the horses ready. The kids and I made our way out to the stables, so they could mount the horses with help from Dalton and I. Then the two of us mounted the horses.

We took a ride out on the back land, keeping to an even pace. Hank, Martha and Grayson, knew how to ride since Dalton got them on horses at an early age. He didn't want to scare them and understand the horses better.

It was something we shared as a family.

*******
Dalton's POV

We rode for a while then made our way back. It was getting late and the kids needed their baths. Once we returned, we got the kids off the horses and I took care of them while Harper got them ready for bed.

As I loaded the last horse into the stall and closed the gate, I thought about everything. How different my life had turned out. I thought the rodeo was my dream but it wasn't. In fact my dream was in the house, in the form of Harper and the kids.

I stood there reflecting on everything, when I heard someone walk up. I didn't need to ask, I already knew.

"Penny for your thoughts cowboy," she said.

I turned to her.

"I realize something."

"What's that?"

I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her to me, "home is were the heart is. My heart is with you and the kids. Your my home."

She smiled as I leaned down and gave her a kiss. She wrapped her arms around me as I deepened it. Harper was my home. I didn't know it then when I first met her. She was that shy, quiet ten year old friend of Cass's.

It took me to leave for the rodeo, only to return to someone I fell in love with.

They say you can never go home again. I don't think that's true. Home is the one place you can always return to because that's where family is. When you understand that, you understand you are finally home.

Do I regret coming home? Not one bit. It led me to my heart and for that, I was thankful.

The End.

I hope you enjoyed the sequel to Tacoma Falls. I loved writing it but all good things must come to an end.

Sometimes we just need to have a good old fashion country romance.

See you in the another book.
