The Teams

Chapter 2: (Raitoningu's voice) The teams are made!

It has been two days since Naruto graduated, and the day after Naruto met the Third Hokage's grandson Konohamaru. Today was the orientation to all the new genin and Raitoningu was preparing to go. He put on his usual clothes, tied his forehead protector tightly around his head, and lastly, he took his katana blade in its sheath from beside his bed, where he normally keeps it. With a firm grip in his sword's sheath, Raitoningu stepped outside from his home. Once outside he heard someone calling his name. He turned his head to the side and saw a brown haired, tanned boy, a few inches shorter than himself but still taller than Naruto, he also had a senbon sticking out of his mouth and his forehead protector tied loosely around his waist, with the metal plate on the side of his left leg. He was none other than Raitoningu's friend and childhood rival, Kasai Tochi.

"Good to see you again Sparky" said Kasai

"Haha, good one Hothead" said Raitoningu, voice dripping with sarcasm.

"I don't understand why do you still call me Hothead. I haven't lost my temper in years." chuckled Kasai taking the senbon out of his mouth but keeping it in his hand.

"The nickname just stuck" shrugged Raitoningu "come on or we are gonna be late"

And with that, both of them started running through the village's rooftops, making it to the academy in record time. They arrived just in time to see Ino Yamanaka, Sakura Haruno and a bunch of other girls arguing over who would sit with Sasuke Uchiha. Raitoningu waved hello to his friend, a blue haired girl called Mizu Ame, who waved back from where she was sitting with her best friend Hinata Hyuga. Mizu had her forehead protector sewn into her blouse, right above her developing breasts. Rai noticed Naruto on the ground, probably a victim of the girls' frantic run to Sasuke. He helped him up.

"What happened?" asked Rai

"Someone pushed me and I accidentally kissed Sasuke" answered Naruto

"Let me guess" started Rai "the girls didn't like that"

Naruto confirmed his suspicions with a nod, Rai simply led his friend to sit at the table behind Sasuke's and both of them kept watching the girls argue. Meanwhile, Kasai, with the senbon once again in his mouth, observed Sasuke, who was obviously bothered by the girls' constant arguing. He wordlessly plopped down on the sit next to Sasuke while the girls weren't looking. The girls didn't notice until one of them, Ino, pointed it out. While all of them were fuming, all of them also knew that, unlike Naruto, Kasai, while not exactly the Rookie of the Year, wasn't someone you wanted to mess with. He hadn't earned the nickname of Scarlet Blaze for nothing after all, he was the only one other than Sasuke that could use Fire Style in the academy. So, defeated, they headed to their respective places. And just in time it seems, because right after they sat down Iruka walked into the classroom.

"OK, welcome to the genin orientation" he started "all of you have graduated from the academy and now you are all genin, but this is only the beginning, the genin are the lowest ranked ninja and that's why all new genin are divided into teams of three that will be lead by a jounin, or elite ninja." he made a pause "Now I'll proceed to divide you into your respective teams."

After he said this, he started calling names and saying in which team they would be. Then, he reached Team 7.

"In team 7 will be...Naruto Uzumaki...Sakura Haruno..." Naruto cheered while Sakura groaned "and Sasuke Uchiha" this time, the roles were reversed with Sakura cheering while Naruto groaned, Sasuke just kept brooding.

"In team 8," Iruka continued "will be...Hinata Hyuga...Kiba Inuzuka...and Shino Aburame"this three simply stayed silent "In team 9 will be...Raitoningu Furasshu...Kasai Tochi...and Mizu Ame" this three simply smiled at each other "And finally, in team 10 will be...Ino Yamanaka...Shikamaru Nara...and Choji Akimichi" this three had complete different reactions: Ino groaned, Shikamaru looked at Ino with a smug look, and Choji simply kept eating his potato chips.

"You'll be meeting your jounin leaders shortly, but for now take a break, and since we won't be seeing each other for some time I'll say it now: good luck" and with that, Iruka left the classroom, followed shortly after by the genin.

After more or less an hour had passed, most of the genin teams had already met their jounin leaders, with the exception of team 7, who were still waiting, and team 9, who were meeting theirs just now.

Rai, Kasai, and Mizu all stood before their soon to be sensei, Yama Jimen. He was a red haired, dark skinned tall man. He seemed to be strong too, judging by his muscles.

"Well everyone," he began "I'll be your sensei for some time, so I would like to know your names, hobbies and goals. So, why don't I begin and then we go from right to left?" when no one objected he continued "My name is Yama Jimen, my hobbies are hiking and camping, and my goal is to teach the younger generations the shinobi way" he paused "now, you, the brown haired one will you continue please?"

"OK then," Kasai began "my name is Kasai Tochi, my hobbies are kunai throwing and wood carving, and my goal is to be the best genjutsu master Konoha has seen"

"A good goal..." said Yama

Raitoningu went next. "My name is Raitoningu Furasshu, my hobbies are reading and kendo, and my goal is to become the best kenjutsu master of the village"

"Mmmm" was all Yama said

Finally, Mizu spoke up "My name is Mizu Ame, my hobbies are kendo and drawing, and my goal is to one day find a cure to diseases not even the Legendary Sannin, Tsunade Senju, managed to cure!"

"OK then, I guess that's enough for today" said Yama " meet me at the training field 9 in two hours, OK?" at their nods, Yama dismissed them. Mizu's mention of Tsunade reminded him that he had yet to answer Shizune's last letter. She was going to kill him...

AN:OK sorry for the really short chapter but I'm still just starting this.So now I'll formally introduce Yama like I did with the others:

Name: Yama Jimen

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Nicknames: Crimson Fist (in some Bingo Books)

Background: Yama is a reliable but stubborn man. That, and his physical condition, is what leads people into comparing him with a rock. He was in the same class as Kakashi, Gai, Kurenai, and Asuma, in which they formed a friendship. He was part of the group that spoke to the Third Hokage about Kakashi's well being and became a chunin, and later a jounin around the same time as Gai. He specializes in taijutsu, although he uses Earth Style jutsus to strengthen his taijutsu, so he focuses more in close combat rather than using long ranged jutsus. He even trained alongside Gai and was one of the few that didn't tease him for his lack of ninjutsu or genjutsu abilities, as a result he even learned the Konoha Hurricane, his own version of the Leaf Whirlwind. At some point during his time as chunin, he met Shizune, who he soon formed a bond with, until she went away with Tsunade. His abilities and strong fist taijutsu style earned him the nickname of "Crimson Fist".

Physical: appearance: He is a tall, strong, dark skinned man. He had onyx colored eyes, as well as spiky orange hair.

Usual outfit: He wears a short, sleeveless white tunic with a red trimmed neck that reaches just below his waist, and a red sash at the waist. Underneath it, he wears a gray t-shirt. He also wears a pair of pants that reach just below his knees, toeless white socks that reached just below his knees and brown ninja sandals as well as fingerless gloves that covered his complete forearm. Over his tunic, he wears his jounin vest, although he normally discards it went the fight gets tough since, in a similar fashion to Gai, he has weights strapped into his vest, instead of on his ankles like Gai, preferring to strengthen his upper body instead of his legs.

Friends: Kakashi Hatake, Kurenai Yuhi, Maito Gai (best friend), Asuma Sarutobi, Shizune

Rival(s): Maito Gai (sometimes)
