"Ruben..." Steve whispers groaning.

James feels himself filling with anger. "Did he damage you like this?!" James growled angrily. He wouldn't accept anyone hurting Steve.

Steve looks terrified at James.

James makes himself calm down quick, not wanting to scare Steve. He takes out of his backpack the two new bought breads and hands one to Steve.

Steve slowly crawls himself up in a sitting position. Keeping a leg straight cause it got damaged when Ruben threw him onto the streets. Steve takes the bread and looks at James a little unsure.

"It's okay." James says, looking at his own little bread and slowly starts to eat it, terrified because remembering Sacha, the droplets and everything. He quickly hands his bread to Steve as the memories are too painful.

Now it's Steve's heart that breaks. "I'm proud you tried..." He says struggling with his swollen painful lips.

"Don't lie to me." James replies.

Steve shakes his head. "I don't lie."

James fell silent as he sees Sacha's face in front of him, himself putting a single droplet but yet a droplet too much into her hot chocolate and within a few hours knew he made a mistake, her craving fiods endlessly while he tried to keep her away till the point come from being arrested and her death making it impossible to ever hold her again. Memories from meeting Steve in prison, being roommates and when he got poisoned himself, his fight to keep sane till they got released and needed to be cut open to remove the droplet's fat away. Every memory is close with him, but none of them are positive.

"James?" Steve whispers several times till the dark haired guy snaps out. "I'm sorry." Steve says guilty but true. "Forgive me." he continues.

"You did what you had to do... I should say sorry for not being a good friend, I can't help you when you crash, I've kicked you out and now this happened to you." James replies.

Steve hands him the piece of bread back to him. "Try again." he says.

James looks down at the bread held in his hand, taking it and slowly taking a bite.

Steve watches him, encouraging and proud, feeling he achieved something good in life.

James quickly shakes his head as he can't handle it again and gives it back to Steve.

"You tried well." Steve says.

"I failed deeper." James responds depressive.
