Chapter 16

*Jaspers P.O.V.*

I left Chloe's to go meet up the guys, I wasn't familiar with the bar but the guys know the people who come here so I joined. The bartender was in a mood but gave me the drinks I ordered. The guys are over at the pool table I start to walk over to them, but I notice a familiar voice mixed with the music, pool balls being hit around, shot glasses smashing onto the table. "Chloe?" I mumble under my breathe and walk over to the corner room. I open the door to find no one in there but keys on the counter which I'm assuming are the bartenders I pick them up and walk over to the window to the left of the room. I stare out into the dark of night and move out of the room an take the keys to the bartender. He's in the middle of a argument with a drunk at the bar so I put them next to his arm. Nodding at me indicating thanks I walk back over to the guys and enjoy the rest of the night. My mind wonders off to Chloe, was she there or was it all in my head. We leave the bar around three in the morning and I remember shit we have class tomorrow.

*Chloe's P.O.V* 

I wake up in the morning and slip on a black long sleeve sweater, blue jeans, and of course my black leather jacket. I go to the bathroom parting my hair down the middle, brush my teeth, and put just a little bit of my make-up on. I walk downstair and see my brothers in the kitchen making breakfast. "Good morning my beautiful and annoyingly smart sister!" Chris chirps walking over to me placing a plate filled with food in front of me. "Good morning?" I look at him strangely usually Mike is the one doing things like this not Chris. "Are you feeling alright Chris?" I have to ask he is acting super weird this morning. "Yeah just wondering where you disappeared to last night and why you don't listen to anything we tell you thats all?" There it goes he's still mad at me for the night of the race I knew he wouldn't get over it that fast and I know my brother way to well. I pick up one of the pancakes with my fork and there lies worms and dirt. "Now thats a very nutritious breakfast Chris thank you for caring so much." I throw the plate in the garbage, grab my bag off the floor, and walk over to the fridge grabbing a water and peach. "I'm going to school if you want to know my every move." I flip him off and go out to my car. I text Ashley to be outside in five. After mine and Ashley's daily morning routine we go to school and head are own ways.

The day went by like the speed of light I tried to avoid Jasper as much as possible today, but it doesn't help that we have classes together. So I skipped those and left school early. At two forty-five I was outside the Marriott. Debating if it was right or not to go in I decide to go in anyways. Walking in I realize how beautifully everything is put in place the surroundings seemed old school but looked so new. I walk over to the receptionist and ask for Matthew Devots room she smiles "he is expecting you room three fifteen" I thank her and make my way to the elevator. Before stepping in I receive a call from Jasper I quickly decline turning off my phone and make my way up too Paxton's room. Matthew Devot is his cover name no I have no idea why on earth he chose that name, but it stuck an I never questioned it. Walking up to the door I knock and seconds later there he is standing in all his glory Paxton. "Hello Chloe please come in" I walk in taking a minute to study the room looking for traps, but I find none. I move over to the couch and take a seat. "You look absolutely stunning I don't understand why you wear so much of the god awful make up you are so much better off without it." He studies me "thank you, but last time I checked I didn't come here to receive fashion advice, but how did you know I wore so much make up?" He smirks at me "Do you think I'd just disappear and not watch over you?"

I give him a confused look "Chloe my love you are the only thing in this world I care for I had to make sure you were going to be okay after my disappearing or what you would say "death"." He was very clear on the air quotes around death, because look he's sitting across from me very much alive. "I want my brother gone. Completely I want my brother dead." He says looking down at the floor. I know he wouldn't say it out of nowhere this is something he took his time thinking about. He truly did love his brother, yet his brother built up so much hatred between them where he has no choice, but death. Getting rid of him wasn't a permanent solution, because he's back and wants revenge. We both know that him leaving willingly won't work, buying him off won't either "Why don't we get him caught-" I stopped myself. "Never mind that will take all of us down, but death Paxton really?" He looks sadden by the thought and I get it, he's his brother not some random. "He will destroy everything thats what he's best at, but I know he will get himself killed I don't know what to do with him anymore. Chloe I have been thinking about this situation trying to work around his death, but anything I come up with gets us and him killed or just him. You know I don t like when you're thrown into the cross fire."

I nod my head because for once I do not know what to say or do. "He thinks your dead" I state he nod "I know." The walls feel like there closing in on us and I don't know how to breathe or move. "I'm in" is all I can manage to say he nods silently and we remain there thinking about what was said an what will be done. This has gone from weird to dangerous ever since Paxton showed up yesterday an I don't want any casualties involved. \

Hello my beautiful and loving readers I know its been what almost two years? I finished the book  and I'm ready to publish the whole thing by the end of this year hopefully! Fingers crossed.
