Chapter 17

*Chloe's P.O.V.* 

Deciding whats best for the both of us right now I get up and walk towards the door. "Where are you going?" Paxton looks up with sad eyes and my heart breaks a little. "I need to sit and think about all of this it's a lot on me too." I grab the door handle and turn it making my way out the door an to the elevator, when Paxton grabs me by the waist and turns me into his chest. "I want to come bak, I want you to be safe, and I want you... everything I do is for you." He says in a husky whisper with that he kisses my cheek and walks back to his room leaving me there shocked and confused once again. I turn my phone back on a I make my way back to the car by the time I get into my car my phone reads that I have thirty-five missed call an just as many voice mails from my brothers, Ashley, Jasper, and my mother. Well only one from my mother and she texted me asking what I would like for dinner. I texted her back saying I'd just pick up food on my way and that I'd be home late. 

As I am driving I see something out of the corner of my eye in my rear view mirror... Jaspers car. How the hell did he find me? I pull over and so does he, "where the hell have you been!" Shouting at me slamming his car door. I shrug my shoulders because it has nothing to do with him. "Out. Why do you care?" You can see the redness in his cheeks his eyes are about to bulge out of his face and his fingers are clamped in a fist. "Why do I care hmmm let me think about that for a second. Oh yeah because you're my fucking girlfriend" He shouts slamming his fit on the hood of his car. I flinch and step back. "You have been avoiding everyone, dodging everyones phone calls, sneaking around town like some cat, what the fuck is going on Chloe!" I roll my eyes at him and he gets closer to me were so close I can feel his breathe on my skin. 

"I don't think its any of your business Jasper." I sternly say glaring at him. He nods his head and turns away, before he gets into his car he turns an the words that came out of his mouth broke me, but I couldn't stop them from coming out and I could only wish he'd take them back. "If you can't be honest, communicate, or make time for me, even have the courtesy to tell me whats going on in that thick skull of yours this relationship over." He slams the door to his car and drives away. I wanted to break down and cry I wanted to tell him what was going on I wanted to be truthful, but I don't. I turn on my heels and get back into my car and speed off to Katie and Jackie's.

When I pull into the driveway the girls walk out and we walk to the outhouse in the back yard. Pulling out stacks of money we start counting it up by the end of it I have four hundred and fifty thousand in cash for the last three months in a duffle bag.  Next stop is Ashley I grab the money and put it in the car. " I want a meeting tonight the garage." They nod and give me a strange look "yo Chloe you good?" Katie asks and I shrug my shoulder "fine why you ask?" They just stare at my like I'm some kind of alien. "just wondering see you tonight." I pull off and head to Ashley's house on the way there I call my brother Chris. "hey Chloe whats up?" "nothing but I have to talk to you and Mikey about something important can you two both meet me at the garage tonight?" I tap at my steering wheel impatiently "yeah we'll be there you picking up right now?" "yeah see you tonight" I end the call and pull up to Ashleys.

We are counting the money and Ashley huffs and throws the money down "whats wrong with you lately Clo you're distant, quiet, impatient as shit, you aren't the best friend you usually are whats going on with you." not looking at her I finish counting the money she threw wrap it up put it in the duffle bag I stand up and look at her. "Meeting tonight garage be there." Walking away my heart breaks a little she isn't wrong ever since Riley came back into town I've changed its not my fault though I am just so on edge and then Paxton I just don't know what to do anymore. I go to the store to pick up some beer for everyone and I grab a few pizzas and pull into the garage. I set everything down an go to the back office and pick up a piece of the wood flooring there lies a safe I open it and stack all the money up lock it set everything back up and walk to the couch sitting there I open my laptop and the slideshow of me and everyone turn on.
