An Extended Ending of the Modern LuffyXReader Oneshot

The day was perfectly fine-birds flew by, chirping happily, the sun's rays warmed the earth in a comforting sensation, a cool breeze blew by the standing stones with names engraved on them, and it blew the boy's strawhat off his head.

The string pulled the hat back, and the boy, in his open black blouse and pants, stood still, undisturbed by Mother Nature.

"You were such an amazing person," Luffy said with a smile, standing in front of the grave. "I wish I've known you better. You remind me of the one person I loved, the one who gave me this hat," he said, glancing at his strawhat. "You and Shanks would be great friends."

"Luffy!"

He turned around to see the owner of the voice.

His fiancee had never seemed to age. (Y/n)'s (h/c) hair gently bounced with each step she took. Her simple (f/c) dress paired with (m/f/c) doll shoes looked good on her. Her smile shut him up, it was like he's in a movie where everything just went slowmo.

"You seemed to have a good time with my uncle."

"Well, of course," he replied, taking her hand and interlacing his fingers with hers. "You told me many things about him, I wanted to meet him myself."

"I'm sure he'd be happy to know you are my fiancé," (Y/n) said, tilting her head on his shoulder.

"Shishishish~! Of course he will!"

But instead of smiling, (Y/n) frowned facing the grave. The nightmarish memories haunted her again, trapping her, unabling her to escape. It was dark and cold, and voices screamed at her with demonic voices.

She snapped out when Luffy tapped her delicate hands, and didn't notice that the tears fell down again. Luffy stood in front of her, cupping her pinkish cheeks and wiping the tears away. "You're crying again. I hate it when you cry."

"They're haunting me again..." was (Y/n)'s answer.

"They're dead ever since long ago. Buried in the ground, and can never return to harm you. That is, if you believed they're dead," Luffy replied. (Y/n) was surprised, yet not really. Luffy saying smart words aren't really new to her, but moments like are truly precious and rare.

Luffy wrapped her closer to a warm, comforting hug. She could feel his rhythmic heart, beating against his scarred chest, calming her. This is her safe haven, her home. All the pain she dealt with, all the sufferings, it was worth it. It's over.

Luffy saved her.

"I'll protect you with all my life. You're my treasure. I love you, (Y/n)."

"I love you too, Luffy."

And she looked up directly into his chocolate orbs, sparkling in the sunlight. He leaned closer to her, and the distance between their faces closed, their lips meeting and dancing in synch.

"Oi you two-"

"DON'T!" Nami said, punching Zoro hard in his head to shut him up. "You're ruining the moment!"

"Ow! SUPER~ romantic moment!" Franky cheered.

"It's a fucking cemetery, not a kissing area," Zoro mumbled, caressing the sore spot on his head.

"Fufufu, they really look good together," Robin giggled. Nami smiled slightly and then decided to call them back down.

"Hey you two lovebirds, that's enough! We still haven't planned for the honeymoon!"

And they married and lived happily ever after.
