___

It was five thirty-two in the morning when Lara was suddenly awoken by a loud knocking at the door. At first she ignored it because she couldn't be bothered getting up, considering the time, but when the knocking only grew louder, she finally got up out of bed to go see who in their right minds would even be awake at this hour.

She left the warm comfort of her queen sized bed and wrapped her large blanket around her body and walked to her front door. Hoping it would be something good and not some annoying salesman trying to sell her something or an employee informing her about who knows what, she opened the door to reveal Jack.

Lara had a million thoughts running through her mind in the matter of 0.25 seconds. What could Jack Avery possibly want with Lara at five thirty-two in the morning?

"What are you doing here Ja-" Lara began to speak before she was cut off. Why? Oh, because Jack had slammed his lips onto hers without any warning.

Lara's eyes were wide open in shock as she wasn't expecting that, but quickly shut them and kissed back. Both Jack's arms wrapped around Lara's waist while Lara's hand cupped his face. The kiss didn't fail to give either of them those exploding fireworks in their stomachs. It lasted a while and when they finally pulled away, Jack leant his forehead on hers.

"I lied," Jack finally broke the silence. Confused, Lara pulled away so she could look at his face, trying to read his expression.

"I didn't mean it. It wasn't just a 'one time thing', Lara. I like you. A lot, for that matter. And not as my best friend, I seriously, genuinely have feelings for you," he said before Lara had a chance to find the right words.

"I seriously, genuinely have feelings for you, too," Lara replied with a slight chuckle.

Lara pulled him closer to her and she wrapped her arms around his neck, trying to make sense of the past thirty seconds and not caring about the fact that she probably looked a mess right now - her hair looked like a birds nest, her face was all puffy from just from just waking up and she had a blanket wrapped around her.

Despite the fact that if Lara looked in the mirror right now she would probably gag, Jack thought she looked as cute as ever, even though she had only just woken up.

"Why are you here so early?" Lara asked him.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry about that. The boys and I are heading off to New York in like, an hour, and I didn't want to go without making sure you knew how I felt," he explained.

"Right, I forgot about that," Lara frowned at the thought of being away from Jack.

"Hey, it's only five days, that's hardly even a week. And when I get back, I'll do this over again, but properly this time. Not at five in the morning when you look like you just rose from the dead," Jack joked.

"I'm offended," Lara exclaimed sarcastically and punched Jack on the shoulder, gently.

"I'm joking, you look cute," he said.

Just then, Jack's phone dinged, signalling he got a text message. Jack glanced at his phone and his face fell slightly. He shoved his phone in his back pocket and looked back up to Lara.

"That was my manager, I've gotta go now so that I don't miss the flight,"

"Okay. I'll miss you," Lara pouted.

"I told you, it's literally five days, you'll cope," Jack said, ending his sentence by placing a long, soft kiss on Lara's lips before walking out the door.

Lara waved to him as he walked down the hall and into the elevator, her lips still tingling from the kiss. She shut the door and went back into bed and slept for a few more hours, her dreams replaying the recent events that just occurred.
