"Hey princess," Jack smirked as he pecked Lara's cheek, referring to her latest Instagram post.
"Hello, prince," Lara chuckled as she walked into the Why Don't We home.
Although it had only been less than forty eight hours since the night on the beach, the last the the two saw each other, they craved each other's company. That night changed everything, and I mean everything between them, and as far as either of them are concerned, it was for the better.
They kissed. You can't just ignore the fact that you have kissed someone, more specifically the person who is supposed to be your 'best friend'. Lara finally opened her eyes that night, she realised how strong her feelings were for him.
"Is it Jemma?" The two heard Jonah exclaim as he almost fell while running around the corner to see who had arrived.
"Oh, it's just you," he shrugged as he saw only Lara standing there with Jack.
"It's great to see you too, Jonah!" Lara exclaimed sarcastically.
"Sorry, I love you," Jonah quickly corrected himself and engulfed Lara in a bear huge but quickly pulled away as he saw Jack glare at him.
Even though he knew that the other guys wouldn't do anything with Lara, it still made Jack feel uneasy considering most of the time, she was hanging out with four other guys. He really liked Lara and from what happened the other night, he didn't want to lose her already.
"I was just expecting someone else," Jonah told Lara. He seemed to glow ten times brighter than normal from just the thought of this 'Jemma' person who neither Jack or Lara knew about.
Since Jack and Lara were still standing in the doorway, the door was open and Lara spotted a very familiar girl walking up the driveway and towards the house. She tapped Jonah on the shoulder and gestured to her, and his entire face lit up at the sight of the girl.
He quickly walked out of the door and to the girl and embraced her in a hug. Lara couldn't help stare, one because Jonah was so excited to see this girl and two, she couldn't place her finger on where she had seen her before. The two started walking up to the door and the girl, who Lara assumed was Jemma, didn't hesitate to introduce herself.
"Hey, I'm Jemma. Nice to meet you!" She said to Jack first since he was closest, and brought him in for a quick hug.
"Hi, I'm Jack," he replied. She then turned to Lara and smiled.
"Oh my gosh, hey! It's Lara, right?" Jemma exclaimed. That was when Lara finally realised who she was. Jemma Parker, the girl from Instagram.
"Yeah, that's me! Small world right," Lara chuckled as Jemma brought her in for a hug. The four went into the living room and Jemma introduced herself to the rest of the guys, and Lara greeted them.
Jonah went and showed Jemma around the house. Lara turned and smiled at Jack, who grinned back at her. They both already knew that there was something between Jonah and Jemma.
"They would look so cute together, but she has a boyfriend I think," Lara smiled.
"How do you know she has a boyfriend?" Zach asked.
"On her instagram this guy names Luke always comments in a way that a boyfriend would, and she replies back to him in the same way. I'm only assuming, I don't know for sure though," she explained.
"You mean the way you and Jack comment on each other's pictures?" Daniel smirked, causing him to receive a slap on the back of his head from Jack and Lara started blushing, not knowing how to respond to that.
"That's different," Jack replied.
"How so? You guys are 'best friends' aren't you? Or is there something we should know about?" Corbyn asked, wiggling his eyebrows at Lara because he knew exactly what's going on, he just wanted to annoy Lara.
Jack and Lara looked at each other, somehow communicating through their facial expressions, trying to figure out what to say.
"We sort of kissed," Lara announced. Zach and Daniel got really excited and Corbyn smiled like a maniac, the only reason why he wasn't freaking out was probably because he already knew.
"It was just a one time thing though," Jack scratched the back of his neck. That sentence caused the three boy's smiles to drop and looked at Lara to see her reaction. Lara's heart broke into a million pieces right then and there, but she decided to hide it and agree with Jack to avoid an awkward situation.
"Yep, that's what it was," Lara said quietly and played with her hands.
Jack then walked into the kitchen with Zach and Corbyn following him. Lara sat down on the couch and put her head down and stared at the ground with sad eyes.
Daniel got up from his position on the smaller chair situated next to the couch and sat next to Lara.
"Are you alright?" He asked, placing one hand on her shoulder.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be," Lara lied, showing a very unconvincing fake smile. Daniel sighed and his heart broke a little for her because he was an expert at detecting when somebody lies.
"Because of what Jack said about your kiss being a 'one time thing', I know how much you like him. I also know how much he likes you so I doubt that he meant what he said so don't worry about it too much," Daniel said.
Lara was just so confused as to why he would say that. She really thought that Jack liked her back because he always showed so much affection towards her, something she had only just realised now, but he had always done it.
If he really liked her, Lara wondered why would he say that it was only a 'one time thing'? But what she didn't know, Jack had mentally facepalmed himself several times for saying that. Of course he didn't want it to be a 'one time thing', and he didn't know why he even said that.
You see, Jack just panicked. They weren't dating, but they sure as hell weren't just friends and he wasn't going to say that they were best friends because that would totally imply to Lara that he friend zoned her, but saying it was a 'one time thing' wasn't much of a better choice. He should've just kept his mouth shut.

Should I do another book about Jonah and Jemma? If so what should I call it?
