Today had been a very eventful day. Jack had gotten ahold of her number, and explained to her why he was an asshole, and he apologised. All that happened on top of seeing him in person at the grocery store and countless people hating on her on her instagram post.
Lara felt a wave of emotions. She was confused, mad and even a little sad that Jack took so long to apologise, but deep down she was more than happy that she may have a chance of getting her best friend back.
When she saw him today, she had no intention of ever letting him back into her life, but after hearing what he had to say over text, it made her think and look what she had just done. Told him to come to her apartment.
It was 12 am and Lara decided to go to bed, so she changed out of her ripped boyfriend jeans and yellow sweater and into her comfiest pair of sweatpants and Calvin Klein bralette that she would sleep in every night. She put her hair up in a messy bun so her long hair wouldn't get in her face while she slept.
Lara took a look in the mirror and laughed because she looked like a basic white girl. She shook her head and slipped under her soft white sheets and scrolled through her social media. She read all the nice comments and apologies on Jonah's post until she heard a knock on the door.
She jumped out of bed, thinking it might be Jack, but then remembered it was 12 in the morning, and why would he come over at this time of night just because she told him to come whenever he wasn't busy?
Lara being Lara, she grabbed a knife in case there was an axe murderer at her door. She looked through the hole in the door and it was in fact Jack. She sighed in relief and quickly put the knife down and opened the door.
Both of their faces lit up from the sight of each other, and Lara did what she felt she needed to do. She flung her arms around his neck, startling him a bit but he didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around the girls waist.
Lara didn't realise how much she actually missed his hugs, or him in general. His scent hadn't changed one bit and she held on to him as if she never wanted to let go.
"I'm sorry," Jack whispered into her hair.
"Jack, stop apologising. I forgive you," Lara pulls away and gives him a light smile. She opens the door up, inviting him inside and he enters.
"Why did you come here at 12 o'clock in the morning?" Lara chuckled.
"Well you said to come the next time I wasn't busy and I'm not busy right now... plus I didn't want to wait," he said
"Why is there knife sitting on the counter?" he questioned.
"Oh um... I didn't expect you to be at the door and what if it was an-" Lara spoke but was cut off.
"An axe murderer," Jack chuckled.
"Yeah," Lara laughed, smiling at the fact he remembered her biggest fear.
Lara went to the fridge to get some water out for the two of them and saw herself in the reflection. She completely forgot she wasn't wearing a shirt and her eyes nearly popped out of her head.
"Um, I'll be right back," Lara laughed awkwardly and went into her room to quickly throw on a shirt.
If this was two years ago, Lara wouldn't have a problem with wearing just a bralette around Jack. It's just they weren't at the same level of friendship anymore and she felt weird.
"Sorry about that, I was in bed when you came and I didn't realise I didn't have a shirt on because I was distracted by thinking there might be an axe murderer at my door and-"
