Jayvon p.o.v- The Past
I'm driving down the road with my future fiance. I'm taking her to this beach i heard about to have a picnic and enjoy the sunset.
"Everything is perfect." I smiled and one hand on her thigh. "I love you Jade, I cant wait to make you my wife."
She did her adorable giggle "I love you too my king" She reached over and kissed me.
All of a sudden the car was filled with light. "Some asshole behind us has their brights on babe I can't see." I said as I eased off the gas.
Then everything went black.
I blinked my eyes open and saw a figure standing over me. A black shadow i couldn't quite make out. I closed my eyes tight and opened them again. I hear a steady rhythmic beat.
"Am i in the hospital?" I asked clearing my throat.
"Oh my goodness." A lady i'm assuming is the nurse exclaimed as she walked in. "Yes you are Mr. Harris." she said as she pushed the machine over to take my blood pressure. " You've been unconscious for 2 months, your family just stepped out to get some food they should be back in about thirty minutes." she said.
"Two months?" I said looking around the room.
"Yes" she chuckled like it was a joke. "There's someone outside to see you" she said before she walked out.
In walked a guy I didn't recognize. "Do i know you? Oh shit do i have amnesia" I slapped my forehead "owe"
The guy laughed "The impact your head had on the dashboard caused a giant gash from your scalp to your eyebrow." he walked over and sat down in the seat next to my bed. "My names Jake" he smirked.
I gave a questioning look. "I'm J-"
"I know who you are, your the guy who has the life i want."
"huh?"
"You heard me" he laughed "uh.. I made my uncle crash into your car but not to hard because I didn't want to affect my beautiful Jade" he looked at his phone.
"Your Jade?" I said confused. "My future wife you mean."
"Listen we don't have much time. They'll be back soon. I shall take over your life or your next hospital visit will be fatal. You will tell your mom to convince Jade that you died then skip town. You will not contact her again. If you even think about trying" he paused to let out a pathetic laugh. "I wont hesitate to kill you both."
"And if i don't" I grilled him. Why would i give up all i have.
"Your precious baby will be gone." He grinned. "Now do as i say, and ill keep in touch." He got up and left the room.
I heard the beeping increase before i noticed i was breathing hard. I sat straight up and pulled the needles out my arm. This mother fucker is not going to get away with this. the machines started to beep off the wall I jumped out the bed and my legs gave out from under me.
I couldn't feel them. I started to crawl with my arms until the nurses rushed in. They got me up and back in bed. Once in bed I put my face into my hands and started crying. I never cry.
My mom came in and gave me a hug. "I'm so glad your ok baby." She kissed my forehead. "Jade is outside should i send her in.?"
"No" I looked at her. She looked surprised "You have to tell her I didn't make it. Someone just threatened her life I have to protect her mom."
"Should you go to the police? I dont think telling her that wi-" I cut her off.
"MOM!" more tears rushed down my face. "Im gonna make a plan mom" I grabbed her hands and kissed them, making her hand a little wet from my tears. "I promise you, I wont rest until I get her back you hear me."
Now shes crying. "But-"
"Mom I promise you I will marry that girl out there. I just need you to do this for me." She gave me a sad look before she walked out that door in sobbing tears.
"He didn't make it Jade." I heard my mom say. I covered my ears I didn't want to hear her heart break. And it hurts to know im the one breaking it.
Soon I heard the scream-cry of Jade. Which made me cry harder. I need to make my plan now. i reached over and grabbed my moms purse and got a pen and back of a shopping list. Jake will pay.

A few days later I was told i needed rehabilitation to gain control of my legs. I was sent to New York, I knew it was to be far from Jade. But if it kept her safe i'd do it.
A few months later I went back to my hometown for my nana's funeral. I was sitting in my wheelchair across from a McDonalds. I noticed a pregnant girl coming out of the doors. And it was her. I couldn't believe it. It was fate. I quickly started to push myself to cross the street. Until I saw Jake right behind her. We locked eyes.
He pulled up his shirt for me to see his gun. I backed my chair away and just in time, my mom pushed me in the opposite direction. I clenched my fist. "he cant do this" I muttered under my breathe.
I knew i'd be hard for her to keep everything i gave her, so that day i went to the jeweler. I got the promise ring and her engagement ring. The same exact one. I will give it back.

A few days later I get his call.
"Hello?" I stuttered
"Don't speak just listen. you fucked up, and i'm kinda glad you did. Gives me reason. I didn't wanna raise your stupid girl anyway. Now Alyssa dies. Stay away Jayvon, Or shes next."
And just like that he hung up.
About a month later my cousin told me she was no longer pregnant. He didn't tell me any details, I figure its for the best. But now I had motive.
It took me a year to walk normal again. But then I started my plan. I needed to find a way to talk to her without having to meet him. And knowing my girl. She loves kids. So her kids is the way to go.
