Our Bridge

Salty tears blur my sight

As I have the tense internal fight

To call him back

But my lost voice is at a lack.

I'm on my knees in the rain,

Sobbing out my extreme pain.

He stands about a block away

And watches me with a tear that's astray.

But still, in the dying light,

He lets go of the rope that was tight.

He cries oh so silently

But his weak shoulders shake violently.

Beneath the bridge that we are on,

The rushing sea storms long.

I want to scream for him to stop

As he moves back and starts to drop.

Screaming and crying

I wonder why he stopped trying.

When did he decide he didn't belong?

When did he decide he wasn't strong?

He left me that night

On the bridge out of sight.

I still cry to hear his laughter,

But I know this isn't a forever after.

I will never love anyone the same

For my heart is still missing and you're to blame.
