My heart was a toy

My heart was a toy

For an ignorant boy.

He held me tight

Through the cold bitter night.

He let me know

That I made him glow.

He told me he loved me one day

Under the tree where we lay.

My life was bright

He was my light.

I heard his lies

Of how I had the prettiest eyes.

I didn't agree,

His eyes were prettier to me.

The day came

When I cried again,

Over a broken heart.

A relationship rip apart.

Over an ignorant boy

With my heart as a toy.

He held her tight

Right in my sight.

He let her know

That she made him glow.

He told her he loved her that day,

Under the same tree that we use to lay.

Her life was bright,

He was no longer my light.

I heard his same lies

Of how she had the prettiest eyes.

I didn't agree,

They seemed cold to me.

The day came

Where she cried again

Over a broken heart.

A relationship ripped apart.

Over an ignorant boy

With her heart as a toy.
